Yeah, when I said northern CA I meant the real one. I consider SF central CA but most people forget that there's another 300 miles from SF to Oregon.
I just don't see how they can do it that cheap. I'm guessing they get 10 mpg and fuel would be $5 per gallon. So a 500 mile round trip for them would be $250. Then if the driver gets $200 for his time that only leaves $200 profit. Maybe my figures are off though. I do know that the driver will be getting a fat tip though since he'll probably be on the road for 15 hrs.
A 30' trailer would still be difficult in the last few miles. Just out of curiosity, what would you charge for a trip like that if you don't mind disclosing that info?
So does anyone know what ever happened to Corey 78K5 or if he still lives in Humboldt these days? Seems like once he met bluechic he fell off the face of the earth.![]()
I actually figured Tahoe area or Shasta, never thought it would just go strait up the coast line. Fuel is not $5 bucks a gallon, it's around $3. That makes a considerable difference. For me to come over there and go all the way up the coast line, then dead head all the way home. I'd be over a grand.
