Moving some cars around today. I started my camaro up for the first time since the end of the summer.
This car has a completely stock 1984 z28 with a rebuilt 305 with holley rebuilt e4mc qjet. Everything was new in 2009. New plugs, wires, ignition coil in 2010. It has an inline holley fuel regulator and if i remember right it is set to 5 or 6 psi(if that's the correct unit).
Put it away with like 1/8 tank of gas in a heated garage. The battery was disconnected. I reconnected the battery and after about 8 cranks she fires right up. I pull the car out and let it idle in the driveway. It's running a bit rough and the exhaust smells a little gassy. I ran it for about 5 minutes and she smoothed out a bit, but then stalled. I started it up and it stalled repeat about three times. I figured maybe my gas was a bit old so I grabbed a can and picked up a couple gallons of 93 and put it in. I was doing some other things and let the car sit for a couple hours. I came back started the car again and it was still running a little rough and I had to hold around 1700 to get it to run smooth. While running it this time I get a check engine light. I shut it down to get code 45 which is oxygen sensor rich. I disconnected the battery to clear the code and run it again to see if it came back. I cranked the car about three times and it wouldn't start. I was starting to think I flooded it. I tried to start it once with my foot to the floor, but no luck. I left the car and went to eat dinner. I come back out and try to start it and it cranks three times and goes chunk. I try to crank it again and immediately I hear chunk. So now I'm here. This does not sound like a dead battery, the starter is not clicking. It sounds like the engine cannot turn over?
