ok so we all have opinions on what makes a rig more badass or less badass than ours, so i propose a badass scale, for example, i'll start by saying something like:

mogs = 10 points
d60 = 8 points
d44 = 5 points
10 bolt front = 4 points
stock 350 = 5 points
stock 454 = 7 points
built High hp/tq BBC = 9 points

etc etc...

just trying to figure a way to figure out rig greatness with a mathematical formula for laughs...

i mean we all see rigs that are slightly less than ours and slightly better than ours and i just wanna see what people rate certian things as far as what makes a good rig /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

rear steer = 10000000000000000000000000000001 points
4 link = 10000000000000000000000000000000 points
both = 99999999999999999999999999999999 points

And you even do 4 link with rear steer????

D44 and 10 bolt need to be worth the same

lockers, winch, and any custom fab need to be worth serious points

crossover and hydro assist gotta be worth something too /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

bling should be negative points. this should not include chrome steel wheels though, as they're just as functional as any other steel wheel. if it serves no purpose, like 40 KC DayLiters across the top of the cab, its negative.

Bull shizzy! The highest you can score on that is 19 if you run mogs and a built big block!

D44 and 10B should be NEGATIVE!!! yech!!

IFS should be MORE negative. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

dual cases, maybe 8?? Equal to D60 (Im asssuming D60 front...D60 rear ain't too impressive, IMO)

What about if all your bling is in the interior? I have a billet dash, billet shaved vents and billet shaved door inserts where the stock pull straps used to be /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

The problem with all these types of rating systems is that they rely on the "bigger is better" mentality.

I don't necessarily agree that if 1/2 Tons are normal, then 1-Tons are better, therefore 5-Ton axles are better still..... Same goes for tires....35s -> 38s -> 42's -> 48s -> ???? Is bigger the most imporant criteria??? /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I could theoretically build a truck with the LARGEST available part in each category (engine, axles, tires, etc).....would that make my truck badass??? I think NOT. Odds are I'd have an abomination that could never be driven on the street, and was SO specialized for one purpose that it would be bascially useless for everything else........ kinda like trying to do your daily commute in a Top Fuel dragster. /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

I think that "Badass" is probably more a function of how close a vehicle is to it's desired functionality. A truck that is built-to-the-hilt for crawling, but fails to provide basic comforts or safety as a street-driven truck (if that was also a criteria) has failed miserably. It's hard to feel "badass" when you can't drive it anywhere, or afford the gas in the tank....or are afraid to drive it because the tires will wear out too fast.

To my view, "badass" is the truck that can do the kind of wheeling that the owner wants to do with a MINIMUM of compromises to creature comforts, and driveability on the street. The more places you can enjoy your truck, the more "badass" it is.....

Not too sure what all this means but was kinda fun to put it in.
My rig is BadAsss! there now no one needs to guess if it is or not cuz I just said it was /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif
