yea, I don't know what it is but I don't remember being that off when I installed the TC, but the pump is for sure broken.
Super frustrating day today. Getting the pump out of the trans was extremely challenging. The typical pointers of mallet and leverage just weren't working. I ran to oreillys to grab a puller and after a ton of effort was able to get it out using a quarter, some exhaust clamps and various curse words.
My problems weren't over with though. I managed to damage the input shaft seal and so would need to order one of those, and the two teflon seals that go on the pump shaft wouldn't transfer over from the old pump. I was unable to get them to shrink back down to correct size even after using a hose clamp on them. Long story short, as I was installing the new pump, the seals got pinched and I needed to pull it out. At this point I said forget it. I didn't want to F up my new pump pulling it out and I didn't have new O Rings and I was missing the input shaft o ring anyway.
The last thing I wanted was to get the trans back in the truck just to have it not work properly.
I called my local trans shop explained the situation and will be dropping it off on Monday morn. I will have them put the pump in, flush the entire trans and pressure test it. I just don't trust myself with transmissions and don't want to be dealing with issues down the road.
Pretty aggravated. Feel like I am going backwards here. Been a tough week with getting the engine started to dealing with the trans being a PITA.
Here is the tool I rigged up to get the pump out finally
at least the drum looks good.
