Oh buddy its close. PCM back from tuners and all connected. Just need to hookup about four wires, install the cats and go time.

If only I was in town this weekend.

so, my excitement was short-lived. I had noticed that the fluid in the body of the trans wasn't getting as hot as the fluid in the pan (dual sensor gauge) and then noticed that the output shaft on the NP241 wasn't turning when it was in gear. That led me to suspect the pump, but I wanted to be sure before I pulled the trans out. I checked the filter and all was clear there, and then checked the cooler lines. No fluid coming out. Nothing, no pressure. Looks like I damaged the pump during the torque converter install. I do remember it not going in perfectly smoothly, but I didn't think I had left it out enough to damage the pump.

Well, I went ahead and ordered a new pump and pulled the trans today (so discouraging to be removing major parts again!!!) and yes the pump is broken. Working on getting it out so I I can get the new one installed. Had to come up with some creative tooling to get the pump out as it doesn't want to just pop out.

On a plus note, I did get the trackbars for the Wraptor all cut to length. The angle cut on the bottom one even came out correct!! That is cool. Will hopefully get those all welded up today so that install will be complete.

The cool thing is, if I can get this trans figured out this weekend, I will order up my rear DS and then this thing will move again under its own power!!

Here you can see the broken tab of the pump

you can see the marring on the TC hub. Gonna file this down before I reinstall

Maybe it's just me, but those trannmissions from behind GEN III small blocks seem to have a much tighter clearance on the pump drive tangs.

yea, I don't know what it is but I don't remember being that off when I installed the TC, but the pump is for sure broken.

Super frustrating day today. Getting the pump out of the trans was extremely challenging. The typical pointers of mallet and leverage just weren't working. I ran to oreillys to grab a puller and after a ton of effort was able to get it out using a quarter, some exhaust clamps and various curse words.

My problems weren't over with though. I managed to damage the input shaft seal and so would need to order one of those, and the two teflon seals that go on the pump shaft wouldn't transfer over from the old pump. I was unable to get them to shrink back down to correct size even after using a hose clamp on them. Long story short, as I was installing the new pump, the seals got pinched and I needed to pull it out. At this point I said forget it. I didn't want to F up my new pump pulling it out and I didn't have new O Rings and I was missing the input shaft o ring anyway.

The last thing I wanted was to get the trans back in the truck just to have it not work properly.

I called my local trans shop explained the situation and will be dropping it off on Monday morn. I will have them put the pump in, flush the entire trans and pressure test it. I just don't trust myself with transmissions and don't want to be dealing with issues down the road.

Pretty aggravated. Feel like I am going backwards here. Been a tough week with getting the engine started to dealing with the trans being a PITA.

Here is the tool I rigged up to get the pump out finally

Yea, I got the Trans back. Gonna put it in his weekend. Bad news is that tc was bad too. The hub was out of round so didn't fit on the new pump. Guess it is good that I didn't try and put it on but sucks that I screwed it up in the first place.

On a good note I fired the engine up last week before the trans issues. Never updated the thread due to the forum being down

That sounds awful, I come out next week to take take this rig off your hands so you don't have to deal with it any more.:burnout::burnout:

Nice. Mechanically sounds awesome. Minor tune stuff.

He still needs the P/N wire hooked up. Airflow is reading in gear and are higher causing high idle. You are also hearing the rail purge air, its a return-less system. Also, don't know if the O2s were hooked up yet and if there is any exhaust beyond the headers.
