I am trying to do a body swap on my 1990 Blazer. I was wonder how do you go about finding a rust free body when you live in NJ, All the rust free truck many miles away from me. I want to try and find one and have it shipped to me, How hard will this be and how much money would i be looking at? Would it be easier to find a rust free complete truck and then take the body off it or try and find just a body? Any web site to look at to places to call? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

if you're patient. I have a frend coming out in a few months and we have pretty decent rigs here. Pm me your info if you're interested, I'm sure he'd like to go back loaded rather than empty. He's from mass so It'd be a lot closer than here in Colorado. I'm sure he could arrange a swing through NJ on the way.

where in jersey are you? i know theres a pretty clean K5 up in Byram, if you know where that is.

Isthere anything special about your drivetrain/suspension on the one you currently have?

Not really, have 488 gears and detriot locker in the rears, I have a crate engine waiting to be installed, I am getting a rebuilt trans and 6 inch lift from a friend. The thing is that it was my first car and I would hate to get ride of it again( yea again, i blew the rear, sold it and then bought it back 2 years later and am getting the trans and stuff from the guy i sold it to and became friends with.) So I would hate to part with it. Really I am probably better off taking the rears off, taking the interior out(its in nice shape) part out the rest, and buy a whole new truck from a rust free state and then put the newer engine, trans, lift, and rears and call it a day, But i would like to keep the one I have now, Now than I am thinking about it more, I might just try and repair the rust myself, I started taking apart the interior to see how bad the rust is and I guess I got a little intimidated. But i am cleaning up some of the flakey rust to see how bad it is. I am taking pictures of it tonight and will post them later to see how bad people think it is. Remember I have never welded or have done body work. I am very interested to learn and am looking at this blazer overhaul as a learning experience
here is pictures of my rust problems
