twinsticking 101

Plus you could do those cool donuts everyone does in their front wheel drive cars :D

A guy I know was doing this in a gutted short bed truck and spit the ring gear and carrier through the cover of a Dana 60.:eek1:

so i ground my rails. i think i did the rear a little too much as i mow have slight 4lo/4hi engagement at that same time. so do i leave it and just be careful(im not gonna be doing digs all the time) or find a new rail?

I'd find a new rail. Grinding in the t-case could produce metal that will get everywhere and destroy it.

This is exactly why we have brand new shift rails for this. I screwed up my 1st set too and lived with it for 4 years having to be careful to not cross shift them and/or grinding the gears by overshifting when pulling one stick out of gear. There is a bit of technique and some variables involved in getting it right.

I have ground 3 sets of rails now without any troubles. The trick is to go a little bit at a time and test it. This is what i used for a reference when i did the 3 sets.

this say similar slope....red and blue....red 1 looks squared..is that because of angle viewing the part...or is it suppossed to be a square shoulder?

lol thought that included lever for that price haha thats a joke. 195 for rails dream on

That link is not for modified rails.

I'm not sure where it is....I've searched their site and can't find it.

ORD will modify customer rails or sell you new ones, the price wasn't outrageous from what I recall.

well mine are already ground so come 5pm im rewelding and then regrinding...if i get partial engagement do i need to shorten square notch or the sloped notch

I think that $195 price is the levers w/o rails. Somewhere on that page they mention that the rails are available from them, but there is no PN or price that I can see.

Edit: On that page go to where it says "For NP205 shifting patterns and instructions, CLICK HERE" and follow the link. In the second paragraph it says
To get front wheel drive in the NP205, you also have to modify the shift rails internally, this is a modification that we do here at ORD.

No other info that I can see though. :dunno:

Hopefully Stephen will check in and set us straight. :D
