Ugly truckling build

I guess it's a less common feature 81 up, after they changed the nose? can't say I've ever seen stock 2-tone with the "aerodynamic" nose/hood.

Seen a lot of non-factory paint jobs with a center stripe, most using the side marker as the bottom edge on the nose, and a few with a front edge on the nose, painted to look like the earlier 2nd gens.

Unless you're going for a pure resto, I prefer the latter over the factory stripe.

Keep the Michigan K5's alive, I see you met Mark before! We do a lot of trading back and forth as well. He sent me a pic of the top the day he got it.

Brace the inside of the T thingy. An X, or at least do the corners with gussets. Do an X in the rear square up top.

Haha! Thanks guys! The monkey poo brown will probably go away someday, I'm not a big fan.

This is what I had in mind for additional bars, but I may go more towards what Adam posted.

I also let the evil Craigslist guide me, and ended up finding something I shouldn't have...

A quick 120 topless miles later....

Love that shadow!

I wasn't supposed to buy wheels yet, but a mint set of 70's era slots for next to nothing wasn't something I could pass up!

Picking up my windshield frame tonight, may just make this happen after all!

Granted you do not go to serious off road so your design is probably fine.
if you're going to be highway driving it, you're still going to want it plenty strong. All you need is a Prius to cut you off and you could be tumbling down the pavement at 65 mph. Extra tubes might kill your look, but they might also save your bacon.

Yeah no point in spending all that time and money for a worthless roll cage that won't do shit if you roll it.
