Ugly truckling build

You guys should have seen the smile on robs face yesterday as he pulled into my driveway with his new full vert. Good work dude :thumb:

That is my biggest motivation! Though I figure I can always show up to Nates with half a rig, a couple cases of beer, and get it knocked out by morning!

With rich not coming the garage should be free. We do have to finish the rti ramp on Friday though.

More progress!

The hoop laying there is the partially bent main A-Piller hoop. I still need to make the bends at the dash level, but it seems like it's going to work out well! Not bad for my first try bending anyways!

I also Upgraded Jess's bender with a SWAG kit. For the price I can't see why you wouldn't, it makes the process really smooth!

Thanks guys!

Got the main hoop finished last night. It turned out about an inch shorter than I wanted, but I'm going to run it for now! Base plates are installed, and I'll be welding it in tonight. Now I just need to do something with this extra 60' of tube!

I'm sure we can help you come up with uses for it...

Draw me some pictures of additional support I should add to this thing. My only criteria are:

1: Don't want any tube directly over the door openings.
2: Don't want to intrude in to the rear cargo compartment (No cross tubes that would prevent loading something into the bed from the back)

I also have 4 additional floor plates to use!

Brace the top as much as you can. X's etc. i know thats not the look you where going for though.

Yeah, I'll probably add some bracing to the T-Top style bars I'm using, as well as some additional tuning in the rear section.

The main hoop is in place, and t-top bars are in! It ended up a little lower than I wanted, so I'll probably redo the bars with a slight bend in them.

Thanks man! It's starting to come together, I almost drove it to work today.

A plate on the "T" in the front section would add a ton of sheer. not as strong as angle supports mounted far corner to far corner, but will stiffen it a whole lot without having to add tubing where you don't want it. Heavy gussets can help strengthen at your nodes without having to add bracings, but look bleh, and are noisy as fahk at cruising speeds.

Hope you're not changing the color, love monkey $h!t brown on tan, one of my favorite 2-tones. Kinda weird how the bottom course is missing from the nose though, I'd touch up that schnoz to match the rest of the panels
