You sound like you have a chip on your shoulder or something at me. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif I don't care what you do with whatever you have and if you think it's "nice" or not. You obviously don't like what I like, fine, leave it alone. No need to get an attitude towards me just because I don't like the same stuff as you. I never said my truck was better than yours, just different. /forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif "Nice" in my own way. I'm sure yours is nice in your own way, more power to you. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Resurrectionjoe,

/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif Same old crap, you list out "too tall, too small tires...yada yada.... /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif
My K5 is not a lost cause, I have turned it into a very nice attractive DD. Oh and no offence, mine will probably out last yours and still be on the road and in decent shape(hopefully) in say 10 years. End of story. /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

could your blatant arrogance and conceit have anything to do with it?

Maybe. He's apparentely the only one here with a, "Nice" truck.

Mine isn't, "nice" just another, "beater" that has more time/effort invested in modification for actual use than his has in its entirety. /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

Geeze, will you guys STFU and quit arguing like little girls. WHO GIVES A CRAP WHAT YOU WANT TO DO WITH YOUR TRUCK AND WHAT EVERYONE ELSE THINKS ABOUT IT. Good God you sound like a freaking bunch of little girls aguing about whose barbie is who's. You people wonder why people quit coming back to the site, maybe its cause your argue all the FREAKING TIME. STOP IT DAMMIT, im 18 and dont argue that much. Oh and who cares if I actually build my truck to use and actually have nice paint but actually see what my truck is capable of. Yes my truck will always be nice, its not like I rolled it or anything. Hell I backed off cause I didnt want to cause anymore damage.

Anyways, I started on new rock sliders tonight, and layed out some fender trimming for the back that will cut out most of the damage in the rear quarter panels behind the tires. and I ordered some new IROKS.

Awwwww you're just mad we trashed your thread!

Who built the original sliders? Specs?

Which IROKS? Anyone know if Pickett got the 42's yet?

The old sliders were the Toybox ones, the new ones are gonna be made out of 4x2x.125 box, they will have 1.75" kickers coming out with 1.5" braces between the kickers and main slider body. I still havent completely decided on how to mount them.

I ordered the 36" Irok's on some 15x8's. They should work pretty well. Hopefully I can have them for this weekend out in Johnson Valley.

Look Resurrection Joe, Tim, anyone else that has a problem with me, my K5, or what I like....

and just accept the fact that people are going to make fun of it.

Why should I accept getting made fun of because I didn't build my K5 for the trails? I should just rollover and let you make your too tall, too wide, too shiny cracks whenever you feel the need too? I dish it out at times because I get it dished to me. This whole stupid argument started because I thought my K5 is one of the nicest. Rustbucket asked "whos the judge" YOU are your own judge so You decide, I wasn't for you. I was judging mine compared to other rigs with my opinion. Tim wants to make the argument that he has spent more time building it up for hardcore use than me, fine, no contest here, I agree. How about the body? The way it looks? Windows? Tunes? Motor? functional creature compforts? Who has who beat with that stuff? That is mostly what I care about, not rock sliders, beadlocks, histeer. Thats stuff that I'm plain not into and I don't really notice it and say "thats way cool and nice." Just the same way that most of you guys would see a good window tint job and barelly notice. Thats fine, not everyone is the same and all have different opinions on whats "nice"

I would hope that the phrase "different strokes for different folks" will stick in everyones mind as hopefully this way out of line argument that we have all let get out of control ends. I opologize if I made anyone mad because they thought I made fun of their truck I was only firing back in anger from getting made fun of, I don't care what the next guy does with his truck so I would hope that next guy would not care about what I do with mine and that both of us don't give eachother a bad time because we have clashing opinions. I would love to get along with everyone and there are only a few that I don't because they don't like my rig. All I ask for is for those select few to either leave me alone about the way mine is built and I won't tease back or just plain come to an understanding and ignore eachother.

Listen Bobby,

Simply put, it's wrong for you to tell anyone that our trucks are, "Beaters" or anything but, "nice." It is also wrong for us to tell you that yours is crap because it is tall and has small tires.

Get off your high horse and we'll get off of ours. This is a really old arguement.

Well to each his own would be fine, but here's the sticking point

[ QUOTE ]
RJF - Why do that? You have a pretty clean K5 zcarczar, not a rusted out junker. Why smash it all up in the rocks until its a POS?

[/ QUOTE ]

You see, that was your opinion, expressed on someone elses truck, in the strictest sense, unwanted

So if you are want to say that, and continue the shiney truck path, fine, it's a good path, full of despair IMO, but fine, but don't get uptight when someone calls your truck a good candidate for a light refractor on hubble

Again, sorry for my part in totally raping this post

Do you think .125 will work for sliders? I ask because that was what I was planning on, but it seemed kind of thin....

So do you think the toybox sliders held up as well as can be expected?

I plan on IROKS eventaully, I just want to hear what the come in at wear wise. I only need about 20K. Hope they work out for you. I'm sure they will/

Yeah the toy box sliders work great if you dont use your truck as hard as me, the old slider were .125 thickness and held up fine, they actually broke at the mounting points. Hopefully the new sliders will fix that.

Now thats the kinda of body protection/roll cage I could live with!!!

Bobby,

Just stop this arguing. You can not win. Realize this and move on. It's not worth it.

This site has such a broad spectrum of enthusiasts - from the guys who think rolling their truck is cool to guys like you and I who want a functional 4 wheel drive that does what WE want it to do. I've had the full on TPI406 motor, one ton with Detroits both ends that was TO ME the ideal combination - good looks and awesome capability. But it was my choice to keep it clean and looking bling.
In these situations, it is best to keep your comments in your head and go to the next thread.

Just some wisdom from a long time member who has seen these flamefests and realizes it just isn't worth the effort to argue. /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif

Tim, Many times I don't start these stupid fights, I will take responsibility for this time but it usually erupts because some asshat calls me a poser or makes fun of me. YOu get off your hi horse first. I have lifted my nose towards the narrow minded "nothing matters but hardcore" guys lately only because I have got snubbed off as "not as good" ever since I joined as a member a few years back.

I'm done, that is probably my last post in this never ending thread, BurbinOR is right.

Jason, maybe one day you'll get lucky and your truck will look like that.

I have read so many of your posts, and you have finally pissed me off. You are so damn ignorant. I understand where you are coming from with a clean K5. I have told people I know that they I think it is sad they cutting up THIER truck. Key word, THIER truck. You NEED to shut up. I have a clean K5 and it has a dent from wheeling. Am I happy? NO, but I will fix it. Just because you refuse to use your K5 the way others use thiers, does not give you the right to say a damn thing. I think your curb hooping, mall cruiser is a damn nice K5. But that doesn't mean that is what every one else thinks is a nice truck. When I first saw the beeters' K5 (the hammered red K5 from last years TTC) sitting on the street in Coasta Mesa, I thought it was a beautiful rig. IT DOESN'T HAVE A STRAIT PIECE OF METEL ON IT. Yet for it's function, it is beautiful. If Jason hammers his truck to look like beeters', that is his thing. Yes, I would find it sad to see a nice truck like that hammered and cut up. But it is his truck. I think it is sad that Steve has cut up the UAV. It used to be what I wanted mine to be. But it is his. Not mine, not yours. They/we can, and should, do what ever the hell we want to to our trucks and not have to listen/read your stuid, lame assed, ignorant comments. Keep them to your self or go away, you douche.

Two nice trucks in my opinon:

[/ QUOTE ]

I desined the Toy Box slidder and two things are wrong with them. First, the mounting angle iron isn't as big as it should have been. That has been changed. Second, I desined them as slidders and if you drop your truck on them, sooner or later, they bend. I have fit mne hard about 2-3 times and they are still ok, the new ones are alot stronger. Plus for people like Jason, I am going to satart sleeving the slidder tude to stiffen it up.
