Ultimate Adventure '09 i want in

There is no voting someone on the trip, Pewe picks you. The rig does need to be street legal and the more streetable the better off you are, they do like all day road trips.

Ok i see getting the ramjetgmc as above will be a nearly imposable task so I have to make a tough call do I build a

Cj7 84– I was offered a roller to start a build on to make in to UA rig

Or

Find a GM 1ton with d60 ect and make a build out of that

WHAT TO DO --- building a rig from scratch for this is possible but costly should I seek a sponsor for parts or try to hook up with a UA vender – I am not looking for cash just parts.

before you think of building someting else. Why dont you send a picture and specs to the magazine and ask what are your chances of making it in?

hmmm... what happens to the buggy?

Good luck. Unfortunately, UA is lame in that, out of the 17 rigs that ran last year only 3 were invited readers

. Everyone else were "buddies" (for lack of a better term) of the mag staff or vendors (who are also undoubedly buds with the staff). Apparently, unless you are in with the magazine's clique your odds of going aren't too good :(

Call and have a chat with Stephen @ORD. They have been a vendor for the past several years. He can't get you in, but he might have some good advice. I know they run Wally down the road for the event, so there must be some flexibility. Wally is licensed and insured, but it's just as "open-wheeled" as your rig.

While some of this statement is true.

Most of the vendors pay dearly and I mean very dearly for the chance to go on the UA. Theres not a lot of pole smokin going on with the vendors on the trip to get in, they just have to pay.

New UA rules state that a vendors vehicle can't go more than once unless it undergoes a major change. Theres a reason that ORDs Willard went Orange this year. Willard will not be allowed on the trip agian now.

Yup every vehicle has to be changed or modified every year. I too and going crazy I would Love to be apart of UA 09 10th aniversary. As far as the watson's Of what I know they will help you with just about anything. but as far as using there name in your application or trying to go as an ORD rep might be tough. due to the fact that you can only have one vehicle per company. So one good in is to find a company with some money that would be willing to sponser you and or send PeWee some money to help FUND UA as well as products, then start building and praying. I am not sure how much I can say about what I know so I'll leave that part there, and just say good luck. I am sure you have a good chance on getting in. Looks like you have a good rig, make sure you have a turn signal that will stay on 3/4's of the trip, and a mirror for wackin inocent bicyclist on the road side.... lol anywho. I am probably going the route I told you about. I will be talking to PEWEee and all the people I know to see if they will sponser a small guy. There is a Ton of red tape my way but it could work. It has too. haha either that or I will have to go as the Darker rounder watson,,,, hhahahahahahhahahaaa.

OK, so how does Wally go in more than a few times? I haven't noticed any changes other than the cool-looking integrated "roof rack" and switching from H2's to trailready beadlocks. Other than that, Wally looked the same. I don't think there is any more work to do on that rig. :eek1:

I know Wally went in '06, not '07 - Willard's first year, and '08 it was the Flowmaster rig. You'll notice in the pictures it is primarily decorated in Flowmaster stickers.

i beleve that -- it could cost a good but to thow this but ther should be better rigs the then that red battey jeep - stock on 35s - that is lame

but i need to get to the people like rick -- ps i have posted on the web site

Some of the differences were suddle. But now they have been more and more. Plus who they rep each time like this year ORD was reppin Flowmaster not ORD eventhough everyone knows they are ORD. So things change

That has always been my beef. There must be 5000+ personal trucks/jeeps in the US capable of doing the UA, but something like less than 10 have ever gone. For the most part it is an advertising stunt. I'm sure a ton of people apply every year - there must be so many viable options that the only way to get picked short of owning a successful off road business and having $$$ to throw around is to know a guy who knows a guy....

I don't know if emails/letters or introweb buzz would help, but it's worth a shot.

What we need is a UK5A. :deal: :D

Even if my Blazer met the requirements and was capable. I wouldn't hold my breath. It is fun to read about though. :doah: :dunno:

They only pick like three readers everyyear. The expsier is how they get funding. look back to the first UA's when people were running 31" tires. There are some really great people that get picked and they have no ties other than reading the mag. One of the great ones this year her name was Andrea, she came out with her boy friend johnathan cooper. in the Tacoma. She was great to watch as she is this Hot little gal and she is on the ground in her nice clean clothes and clean hair under Tim hardies lil beater learning and turning wrenches well into the night. I'd say that the picking is relativly fair.

So start video taping BB. Find someone who can do video editing and just make a compilation of a bunch of footage taken by people at BB. We do it for the calendar every year, why not do a video as well? My kids love offroading videos, and I'm pretty sure noone gets turned away from participating in BB, so why not.:D
