Thanks for joining the site. Well spent 25.00 isn't it?
If you can think it, someone here has also. Great place to bounce ideas around.

The extra wheelbase can both hurt and help. The longer you are the better you will perform on ledges etc. Picture a little samurai trying to climb a 4ft tall ledge vs a crewcab on the same ledge. The samurai will be nearly vertical while the crewcab will hardly be at an angle at all. The disadvantages include trying to maneuver through tight trees, rocks etc. as well as a poor breakover angle.

I believe in extending the wheelbase more for a larger tire. I am using 42's and will be moving my front axle 3" forward and my rear axle 6-8" rearward. A good formula to get you in the right range is wheelbase=3x tire height. So a 42" tire should have close to a 126" wheelbase. A 35" tire should run near 105" of wheelbase.

I feel this formula equals the best stability vs breakover.
You will also improve your approach and departure angles by moving the axles outward.

:D just some food for thought. And welcome to the fullsize community.

i just wheeled a few weeks ago with 38.5's on my k5 with a 4 in lift back clears fine no rubbing or anything the front rubbed pretty bad but i have no trimming whatsoever

My paint is flat black, but it looks semi gloss in the sun but at night you can't see the thing except for the gloss yellow. Here are some before and after pics. THe truck is pretty unique... I think.

After... $100 paint job. What do you all think? I have access to a gerber stencil machine so my 4X4 is kinda fancy but I like it.... sometimes I can't believe that's my truck in the driveway, it looks that differnt.

Oh, to see over the hood scoop? Yeah it gets in the way sometimes but I've learned to drive with it. At least I'm not super short. I'm about 6 foot. If it becomes a big problem I can always un bolt it for a little while. But it is functional. whipped it up in my shop in about 2 1/2 hours, the bondo work on it isn't the best but neither is the rest of the truck. Check it out!
