Due to funds, I am one of those who takes forever to get anywhere with my projects. I did take some pics, but not as in depth as manny. I get started and forget about pics.

Looking good, but PLEASE get some more jackstands under that truck. That doesn't look safe

the outfit was donated by a co worker for now. My buddies brother had the tanks which we exchanged for full ones.

Also, I know it looks hokey, but the K5 really is stable in those pics above. I had to get the wheels off cause they were sold, and I will need to get to both ends of the frame to relocate shackles and stuff. I had tried to rock the body around before I removed the jack. I did pick up another set of jackstands and stuck under the cross members at both ends of the truck so that the neighbors would stop coming over and telling me how dangerous it looks.

lol looks like the fun is just begining, im just on the other side of the state in perryville, where do you go wheel at, ever heard of custom differentials in bloomsdale, i know its far away lmao

Nice touch with the marshmallows! :haha: :haha: :haha:

You should make this thread your official build thread. Off to a good start...

I actually put off burning untill I had them!:D I got one bushing out then my buddy said that he wished we had some marshmellows to take a couple funny pictures. After digging around the kitchen I found something else to get done untill I could aquire marshmellows for the photo shoot! :haha:

I guess I should turn this into my "official" build thread. I just don't want nobody coming around here giving me s*%t cause it's taking me too long to build.

I haven't really been wheeling anywhere special yet. I used to mud bog when I was a teenager with my buddies. I am building this Blazer mainly for crawling and light mud. I want to run a few trails around here this year if possible. Like Kansas Rocks and S.M.O.R.R. Eventually, by next year I will have my own trailer and I will feel comfortable about takeing longer road trips. I would like to go wheeling with the Iowa fellas as it looks like they have some sweet trails.:doah:

Don't worry about that. Most build threads I've seen on here in my short time so far are slow going. Only one time did I see someone give someone a hard time. It was on Ben's (BIGBLAZE433) build thread and everyone pretty much came down hard on the other guy for being such an a$$ about it.

Most of the guys (and gals) here realize that most us have lives outside our rigs and don't wake up every morning with oodles of time to wrench on our junk. :D

that is pretty much what I was referring to . But, I do have oodles of time, just not pools of money!

I disassembled my leaf springs and painted them with por-15. I also painted my rear axle today. This stuff is supposed to stay on no matter what. Including my skin

When I started painting this Am, the city decides to scrub my city streets. They must have come by 4 times. Then later on this afternoon, I came home to a note on the door listing city code violations (including my k5), and telling me I have 30 days to clean it up.:mad:

I know that darn street sweeper must have sent over an inspector. I was pissed at him this morning, but I didn't even talk to him.

Wow, I am glad we don't have those laws in Maine. I would be broke (from fines) then kicked out of the town.

ok, here are some pics of where I think I will mount my front spring hanger. I might even notch the front mount where it is close to the body mount and move it closer. Either way about it, I am going to have to drill new holes.

I was hopeing somebody would give me the diy shackle kit measurements so I could be sure. Looks like my stuff won't be here till later on in the week. Let me know what you think.

and this tie rod on the jack stands represents where abouts my axle will sit. Or at least where I want it.

thats pretty much exactly where my mounts are mounted. that will move the axle 2-3" back.

How long did it take with the torch?

Also can you get the 64's of a 2WD?
