***UPDATED PICS***** HOME SAFE ROAD TRIP: SLC, UT to Pensacola, FL 12/30-1/1/07

Did he tell you about the foot warmer he installed on the floor board? Is that were he is stoping for the night?

Great news! Keep us posted on his progress. :wink1:

Just had an update. 40 is open and the chosen route. Flagstaff to Albuquerque then into the great state of Texas.

Thanks

No mention of any foot warmer.

Fyi, I didn't see all of the story but I think the news just showed uber heavy snow in Albuquerque. :eek1:

Through El Paso headed for San Antonio before stopping for the night. No problems other than a flaky oil pressure guage and a border patrol check point.

I10 east all the way home.

Glad to hear all is going good.

So what is Robs plan for this new truck? If a daily driver, what are the plans for the blazer?

The new truck will be his daily. As far as the Blazer he can explain that.

ick... that's a miserable stretch of road. Glad everything is going well, keep us posted.

Sorry it took so long for the update. He at about 5:30 was just west of Batom rouge LA. He expects to be home in P-cola tonight. Truck is running fine no bad news to speak of.

Update was late because I was out wheeling a little today. Who's got a 14 bolt for cheap locally. The 10 bolt gave up today. Pics may follow.

Thanks all for keeping up with this for Rob.

I AM HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to Jason for picking me up and showing me around SLC.

Thanks to Keith and Andy for their calls to give me an idea of what I would find along the way. THanks to all that left their #'s that I didn't need!

Keith Utah-20 & US-89 are two of the most beautiful streches of road. I'll have to come back to see them again.

Never take to heart the word of the rest stop information person, regarding I-40. I haven't seen snow like that in a long time.

Truck ran great except for the oil pressure guage dropping from 40 to 5. After checking everything and deciding to push on it popped up back to 40 and held.

I you live in the snow area, clean off the roof of your car. Almost had a pile up on I-25 south from Albuquerque because of the snow/ice coming off in chunks.
I have 7 disposable cameras to get developed and then I'll post pics.

Didn't make it to San Antonio last night. Stopped in Ozona left there at 6:30 and made it to Pensacola at 9:30pm. 900 something mile today and only stopped for gas once!! I love dual tanks.

Thanks again, I'm going to bed

Glad to hear you had a good ride home, enjoy the new truck! :wink1:

Thats great to hear that you got home with no problems. To bad the weather wasn't better so you could have seen more in SLC.

Great to hear yor home safe  !
It's trips like these that will seem to be remembered more often than others.

And don't forget to post pics :D !

Ok two things.
Scott we need pics of the 10 bolt carnage (it's kinda like watching saddam swinging, just can't help it).

Rob, Since you have a new DD what are the plans for the blazer?
