Vehicle shipping?

Know any truckers going that way to pick up a load?

Not that I know of. That said, some of my family used to do OTR, maybe they have some friends... I will look into yhat

I actually have to ship cars on trucks cross country often. You can do open or closed trailers. Cross country ranges from $1000 - $2000, the latter for an enclosed trailer. When I buy nicer cars from out of state, I always do enclosed because you can't predict the weather. If I'm selling, I let the buyer decide since they are paying for it anyway. Last car I shipped was an NSX from Pennsylvania to SoCal, and shipping was about $1400 for an enclosed trailer. I find that the best deals are found if you go through a shipping broker. If you call a shipping company directly, like Allied or Reliable, they tend to be almost twice as much as a broker and private trucking service.

Cuz when they drive across country to pick up a load they usually try to take a load that direction. They don't want to run empty.

Yeah I understand that. That's why I'm thinking that my best bet will be to just put an ad on uship and wait til someone has a west bound load and can pick it up. Luckily the timing isn't really a huge issue.

I shipped my K5 from a hundred miles west of dallas tx, to new hampshire, $1155 on an open car hauler. The kid came and picked it up with a single trailer, and when he strapped the front wheels, dinged the beauty rings. They tried to charge me because i had a bunch of weight in the back, we ended up settling on the over weight charge for the ding on the beauty rings. They were a pain in the ass to deal with, they said they would be out afternoon, and called at 11, and were in the wrong city a few hundred miles away. They eventually showed up, about 8 hrs late, but didn't damage anything else on the truck. https://www.nationaltransportllc.com is who i used

Haha, the getting lost hundreds of miles away seems to be standard operating procedure. I've heard that line a few times. I last used http://foreverwestinc.com.
