I prefer nature's method...rust. But in Colorado's arid climate, it tends to be rather slow, ha.
Haha!! That’s what I’m trying to fix..I prefer nature's method...rust. But in Colorado's arid climate, it tends to be rather slow, ha.
That’s what I plan on doing in the cab and bed. I’d like to have a finished look outside. I don’t plan on wheeling this much, it’s more of a daily driver.I was able to bedliner mine in three days for under $500.00 in my driveway. If I would have used only one color I could have been done in two days. You can get it in any color under the sun. Need paint code to match the paint color.
It was easy, Scuff, mask, wipe with wax/grease remover, spray.
Don't have to worry about polishing the paint or the wrap pealing from a branch or rock. Just power wash and done.
Vvivid says thier stuff is usualy around 7 years but I’m sure that depends on climate.Just curious how long these wraps last and what is involved in removing them. It reminds me of the wall paper in our house. I'd rather have paint but I'm not looking forward to removing it. You may want to consider the work involved if you don't like the wrap. Seems like you need a good surface to work with to prevent rust. Personally, being in the northeast and all, I would rather find a way to paint it myself.

I used Raptor liner brand (black) , Shake n Shoot (red). 18 months ago. I keep it outside. The materials are uv resistant, garranteed not to fade. Yes textured. I sprayed it on. Can be rolled on for a smoother finish.I don't see a build thread....so what brand? How long ago? Garage or outdoor kept? Textured? I'd love to look at any current pic you have.
Awesome! I think Vvivid said the average for their vinyl is about 7 years. So I can tell you as far as life expectancy of the vinyl, it should do well. I started having the mixer trucks done with vinyl back in 2014. I only have one truck that old so far, but the on the mixer drum, it still looks good, especially considering the water , (every load) and the acid washing.
This was a hell of a lot easier and quicker than rattle canning it.It''s tougher than you might think. My wrap is 3+ years old and has desert pin striping along with a log that kicked up and dented the passenger door. Wrap is still intact where it was smashed in. The thing that's made marks in the finish is roost from cars/trucks doing retrieval at the races. Even then it's in the laminate only.
If it last 7yrs on the hood, let me know because I need to switch brands.Awesome! I think Vvivid said the average for their vinyl is about 7 years.
Haha! I’m sure that’s best case scenario, which is opposite of what I can provide. I’d like to think I’d have it painted before then but the way this project is going, I’m sure that money will go towards something else.If it last 7yrs on the hood, let me know because I need to switch brands.

Life has gotten in the way and this is from Oct when I took it to set up tree stands. So far I am pleased with it. I need to redo it only for the fact I put this on with one hand when my right hand was broken so I was a little limited on what I could do. I think if I was able to do it with both hands, it would have looked better.Cntymnty77
I know this is a bit old, but do you have anymore pictures of your truck since the wrap
Yep! This is the one I got. I think I’ve got more on my build page but can’t remeber now. Thanks for the reply
I hear you on the life getting in the way
But if the wrap is way better than paint for now I might just pull the trigger
