Very cool article about a 69 Baja truck

Mini Boot

I think you arte correct, Its a 2.5 L motor, the Mini Boot is a super cool rig, I have been trying to buy it for over a year now, Some day i will add it to my collection, I will scan some photos of what it looks like today and post them, I know this site is 69-72 trucks but i get so many request to post these old photos i will keep doing this untill iam told not to, Iam having so much fun with this, Thanks for all your support, Ron:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

Ron, I sure hope you can get the MB as it "belongs" with the rest of the stuff you've already gotten. Good luck! Let us know of the good news when the day comes.

I know this site is 69-72 trucks but i get so many request to post these old photos i will keep doing this untill iam told not to

You might as well plan on doing it forever, because I do not forsee any complaints coming your way :waytogo:.

As for myself, I seriously dig the nostalgia of it all. This is information and pictures that can not be found elsewhere and it shows direct lineage to the vehicles we know and enjoy.

I am quite sure that I can speak for others and say that your time and effort is greatly appreciated by all.

Thanks, So far i have only posted about 5% of my vintage photos, Iam scanning a bunch of super cool vintage K5 Blazer photos, I will post them soon, Iam getting ready to set up a web site for my Vintage race trucks and other rigs, I will have all photos there and a section for each ride with vintage and current photos and a section for each restoration and i have had request for a live web cam of the shop showing what iam working on, And you know iam building a new state of the art race Blazer for next years race season, The first race should be 2009 Las Vegas Mint 400 in March, We will be filming the race from inside the race Blazer, And i welcome every one from this site to show up at Vegas for the race and the pre race partys, You have to have the most fun you can before you cannot do it anymore

I'm glad to hear you're building a new one to race. Any hints on what era, is it a first gen?:D I loved the '72 K10 I had, but alas it went away to pay med bills after the first child.:( I think I'll have to make plans to get to the Mint 400 next year. I'd love to see tha new truck and meet you, Ron. Planning on bringing any of the vintage stuff then also? When the new site starts up, be sure to post a link on here so we can see it.:thumb:

Race Blazer

The race Blazer will be based on a 1969 K5 Blazer, The only Blazer part will be the frame only because of class 3 rules , The body will be fiberglass, The basic body style will be based on my 1969 original race blazer, And when ever iam at a race i have every vintage race truck and car thats working, At the Vegas race i plan on having the 1969 New race Blazer, The original 1969 race blazer, the 1970 pre run Blazer to check out the track the day before the race, my 1969 # 40 race truck and James Garners 1970 442 race car, That should keep us busy, These photos are of the original 1969 Race Blazer,

This is my favorite photo of my blazer, Its the one on the right, This is the first race for the K5 Blazers, 1969 Baja 500, SN# 000001 ans SN# 000002

Ron,

It looks like many of the photos you've posted were shot by professional photographers. Are copies of any of these photos available for sale? :dunno:

Having a few framed photos like these in my workshop would certainly be inspirational....and a great reminder of the history of these trucks.

As far as that '69 rebuild: Please start a new thread here and show as many pics as you can. My own "Might As Well" build thread (though based on a '72 not a '69) is eventually going to be painted orange as well, and I'd love to see how one of these trucks looks with a fresh coat of Hugger Orange on it. :D

:usaflag:
