i just picked this up and i ran the BOM, it seems to have come from a motor home c30. its got 4.10s and a powerlock in it:D

BOM: 603476-3

it has a wayyyy bigger housing than my 70 under my dually, does anyone know if the only actual difference is the webbing of the housing? its still got the 4 inch tubes and the GM looking brakes with the bolt on ebrake cable.

also do they sell rebuild kits for these powerlocks? its kinda weak. or does it work differently? i can spin it like an open diff rolling it on the concrete.
i can pop the over if i need to, it has the crosspins that are beveled at one side.

heres what i found online:
603476 - 70 - Rear - 1974 C20/25 & C-30 Motor Home; C300 Camper, Van & Dual Wheel - 2 Piece Case

I have a 69 C/30 truck cab sitting on a 1977 GMC motor home chassis..with 454 th400 and it has the dana70HD rear end in it. 19.5 inch tires..factory rear disk brakes..and is 10 lug with 4.56 gears. The 70 and 70HD are different in that the HD ring gear is bigger...That is a nice heavy duty rear..I also have a 70HD out of an old 87 crewcab dually what was a nascar tow rig for ricky rudd's tide ride...i sold the truck long ago and kept the HD rear.. They lake this axle for alot of trucks...google the 70HD and you can find info there

i thought my 84 dually had a 70HD, but its doesnt even compare in beeferton to this one.

Are you using the motor home master cylinder? I wonder if that's the one we are supposed to use when switching to rear disc, or if not, I wonder if it would be a better option.

Honestly, it looks overkill even, NOT that I'm against that :D. Whats the ground clearence compared to a 14FF?

nice!!!

i took some more pics for ****s. this thing is MASSIVE.
over 18 inches wide and around 14 inches housing to yoke, its ****in huge.

That thing is sweet! :saweet: I wish I could have found a housing like that when I built my 70HD. :eek1:

Drum brakes, right? Any idea of drum diameter? Standard 8 on 6.5 lug pattern? Are the axles flanged like a typical 70 or are the splined on each end with a drive puck & cap? What's the wms?

Inquiring minds want to know! :ears: :D

15 inch total height drum brakes, same 8x6.5 dually wheel hubs youre used to, 4.5 hub diameter. shaft uses 8 bolts bolted on like the 14 bolt shaft. and 74 WMS.
