Vic Hickey 1969 K5 Baja Race Blazer recreation build

This is a BITCHEN thread! Love it already....

And the workarea...It's just a parking lot I guess, but are you planning to add cabinets and shelves, lighting etc? I would kill for a big place to work like that!

I'll be watching this thread! :waytogo:

Always loved the baja, someday I need to attend a race.

Great history here, this is going to be an awesome build. :cool1:

New heads

i just picked uo the new Cylinder heads for the race motor, They are Nascar style Pontiac Aluminum race heads, They have titanium valves with Jessell shaft rockers, They are CNC ported and come with Crower roller lifters and Roller cam,And matching intake, With the new Dart race block and good bottom end parts this motor should be good for 700 HP:bow: The motor the parts are sitting on is not the race short block, its a old 11 to 1 motor i used for photos

Oooooo Aaaaahhhh. :)

I watched a documentary on the baja 1000 today on speed and thought of this build... they followed the BFG sponsored BC teams...

I would have to say that those fenders should be the envy of alot of first gen blazer owners who want to fit some more rubber!:wink1:

Fenders

I just got a call and my rear fenders are done and will ship to me today, I should have them in 3 days, More photos soon

Are Vic Hickey diff covers rare or worth anything? My 74 had them installed when I bought it. The blazer was purchased in Torrence, CA. I still have the D44 cover, but I got rid of the 12 bolt cover when I sold the axle.

It looks real good! I can't wait to see it finished.
