Vintage Air Install (LQ9)

A little off topic, but.... What did you use to line your engine compartment and cab interior? Is it Lizard Skin or something else? Also, did you do it yourself or have it done?

Nothing crazy, I think I just used the rustoleum bed liner. Must have gone through like 30 cans though.

...wish VA made a system for the 'burbs...

You have rear air? The front is the same as the Blazer.

They do. There are (I think) two different trunk systems. Scoops aside, their general dimensions should closely squeeze into our overhead or overfender (93+ style) spaces.

It's on the list.

Yeah, I salvaged the rear a/c parts from another 'burb I scraped. I've been saving them for this 'burb, but I still need a condenser, new compressor, hoses, etc....I get hesitant about putting that kind of $$ in old tech, just like the man in the video said....

I do plan on insulating the cab floor (been looking at Lizard Skin for years) and styrofoaming the roof along with painting the roof white. The factory put a small section of s-foam where the rear evaporator sat.

Thanks, I didn't see it in their online catalog...

did you have any issues with the firewall cover plate? the top of the firewall has a lip where the top of the body is joined to the lower half and its creating a 1/2 inch gap on mine, no way i can seal that with RTV.

one of my drill holes is lined up exactly on the edge of that lip too.
