VTBLAZER's Driver Build

Had a sit down with the wife today and asked for some help from her...

We talked color this and matching that for the interior and paint, stuff like that.

She gave her input on seat fabric color vs carpet, crazy like a fox aren't I? :smirk:

Very, very smart man. Borderline genius.

I'd be thrilled if my wife would take the slightest interest in offroading. I'd even build her a rig. :D Your lucky.

Bruiser

A little unseen progress in the right direction.

Found a hydro assist set up and cross over. :D
Both in the new/used category.

Freakin' baby steps lately...

Mounted up the MTRs and got em on the axles. :dunno:

Whoa..been over a year since the last post. :eek1:

Thing's have changed some, picked up a different tub and left this one sitting in the field for awhile.

Have it sitting in the shop at the house now, new body mounts are in and it's on the way to being whole...finally.

Right now, it may get assembled using up 'spare' parts sitting around taking up space.
I have a decent crate 350 motor, a good th-350/205 t-case and other misc parts that I think I'll drop in.

Nothing major but for the first time ever, it's one 'solid' piece.

Lower pillar needs more work but it's all dropping into place nicely.

Factory seam on the floor looks/fits like it was never taken apart.

One piece for the first time.

All it took was three blazers & one truck for donor parts to get it done. :doah:

Maybe it's time to post up a "paint to please" sale thread for this one.

Going up for sale here soon, whatcha think about offering it up already painted?

Or would 'in primer' ready to paint draw in more buyers?

I think you will have more potential buyers if the rig is put back together and painted. If it is just in primer I would imagine the interior wouldn't be installed. I'd think more potential buyers just want to hop in, buckle up and go!

Paint it a metallic silver and make me drool!

I agree but choices are good too!

Price primed (and have it at that stage) and a price painted in buyers color choice (within reason)

You've been selling a lot of these lately. Are you keeping one for yourself?

I'd sell it primed assuming it's not in drivable condition.

Yeah, decided on keeping the orange one on tons and finish up the build.

The consensus is leaning towards only primer, that's easier for me too.

throw some re-sale red on it :D

It was time to double check the firewall alingment, so with some trepidation, I installed the set of factory blazer doors I have.

Seems like I've crested the top & from here it's all down hill, the hard tedious work is done. :woot:

Blazer tub, truck firewall & the blazer upper half of the windshield frame all lined up nicely...what a relief.

Skipped a couple steps and played with some mud & primer around the seam area just to give myself some motivation.

Pulled off all the bracing today and the firewall sprung back...

...a 1/16th of an inch. :smirk:

Finished up the drivers side, waiting on the pass. inner kick panel to continue on.

Threw on some rattle can primer incase I decide to toss it outside & bring in the orange one till I get the parts.

Pretty dayum happy with the results so far.
