DP K95- do you have any close up pics of the way your bumper mounts to the frame? i need to make a bumper with a hitch receiver for a removable winch mount. thanks.

Here's a pic of the frame mounts - both front and back.

damn, some impressive setups here:eek: I have a question about the CUCV bumpers. Are the shackles mounted on the bumper, or on the frame itself?

My original plans for my K5 included CUCV bumpers, but after seeing some of these tube/baja style bumpers, I'm thinking they might be better looking.

The shackles on the CUCV's are mounted to brackets which actually replace the factory bumper mounts. I just installed mine along with a chopped factory bumper today. With a little grinding you can run 1", 8 1/2 ton WLL shackles on the CUCV brackets. I'll post a pic tomorrow.

Yes, technically it is a factory bumper, but the someone asked about CUCV shackle brackets. I got the brackets, cut two square holes in the bumper for them to fit, stripped off the plastic trim, chopped the sides off and cut angles for a little better clearance, and painted it black. The CUCV bumpers are nothing more than factory bumpers painted drab with the shackle bracket holes already cut in them.

4wd metal works is my buddies business that he is starting and I have been helping him out. The website is down due to updates. If you'd like more info/pics let me know. I can answer any questions you may have. We can ship any of our products. We are in the process of designing more bumpers and different rock sliders aswell. Let me know if you are interested or have any questions.

That is the best looking stock bumper I have seen! nice and clean.

I bought a set of one ton axles out of a CUCV on e-bay. The guy that sold them to me buys CUCV's (both blazers and trucks) and parts them out. I went back to him to get the front brackets and he's gonna hook me up with some rear ones soon. Through sheer coincidence I found out that he's a member on here by the name of muddog. I think I paid like $50 or $60 for the front pair. Steep, but cheaper than a new bumper (or a busted window from a broken towhook) and easier than finding a CUCV. Thanks for the comments on the bumper by the way. First one I've ever done.

I like the way you mounted the D-rings on the front. Do you have any view of it from the front, Mainly the d-rings!

hey boz42, what size tire you running?

i see alot of pre runner style bumpers, they all look pretty good
