anybody know what the torque spec is on that steel plate on the back of the water pump?

Arent they a 1/4-20 bolt? Pretty sure that should be 10-15ft.lbs. But dont quote me on that.

Which direction do my oem valve covers go on? Do the wireloom brackets go top or bottom?

Should be top I think. Whatever way puts the oil fill, pcv, and breather in the right spots.

What does a stock 1974 engine configuration look like? You could technically put them on in any direction.

Anybody with a stock truck remember what side they fill the oil from?

no picture?

usually the oil fill is on the ds iirc.. whichever puts it forward.....

OK that helps...it makes sense that the oil filler would go forward...sand that puts the filler on my passenger side with the wire looms to the top However, on the drivers side that puts the PVC hole forward as well :dunno:

from a 74 blazer broshure. Looking for more.

I can't see very well, but is that the oil filler cap on the passenger side front under the air cleaner horn?

I can tell you the 75 pickup one i just posted is exactly the same as my 77 is which i beleive to be factory.

wire looms for the alternator go on top of valve cover, the oil fill is on the passenger side toward the front of the engine, hth...

Also looks like they painted the exhaust manifolds orange as well...
