how long is the run from the welder to that 30amp dryer outlet?
10 to 15 foot extension cord would be perfect.
http://www.millerwelds.com/om/o1310f_mil.pdf page 7 outlines the power requirements. Probably best just to wire up a custom extension cord.
You can buy cable buy the foot in a jacket at home depot or lowes and then add your connectors on each end.
I'm thinking a home made extension cord is in order. The input on the welder says 20 amps.
Well actually the welder requires a 30amp breaker, the dryer is on a 30 amp but the plug is different.
This is driving me nuts.
I went to home depot and they don't have the goofy extension cord I'm trying to create. I was thinking about building a "junction block" that I could toss on the ground. Home depot has the wall receptacles but not a cord end.

Why does 220 have to be so goofy with amp rated receptacles?

Most of the wiring I deal with is 3 phase with a high leg. Fun stuff for sure.
Well home depot and Lowes were closed guess I'll have to wait for tomorrow.

Check out Eastwood tools, they have a nice 175 amp 220v, has a three year warranty also comes with a spool gun for aluminum. I think it is around $600 give or take. I've been welding since 1960 as a structural Ironworker, am planning on a new small welder think this will be it.

yah just get a 2 gang box, put the wall mount plug on there. Its not recomended but I just jump one of the legs and the neutral over to a standard 115 socket. So I have 230 and a 115 outlet.
A aluminum gun would be sweet to get but first I need to learn how to use this thing. 
I used a 2 gain box and made up a extension cord, works like a charm I cranked the welder up all the way and it never popped.
Now it's time for you all to laugh, I had the gas tank around 18 and between 1500-2500. I just took a guess off reading something. I'm having trouble keeping the tips clean and having the wire from breaking. I would assume this was from the tip and my angle.
I did knock that side with a hammer to "test" the weld...

practice x10 million .
and nozzle dip keeps tip clean and wont mess with the welding .
if welding with any sort of air movment like fan / wind it will blow the gas away from the tip and mess you up .
and unless body work I would skip the aluminum spool gun . there not the best at all for structural stuff. for that you need a tig to realy get the heat in the stuff.

I have a can of some kind of cleaner I would assume that would be the nozzle dip.

That could be the dip, but it is also not the cause of those poor welds.
Was pushing, and about a half inch or 3/4 away form the material.
I talked with dueling and he said tried to pull and get closer.

Pull if you are using flux core. Push if using gas.

Angle iron works well for practicing. Go until you fill a 8 or 10 inch long section.
Make sure you can see the puddle and the wire. I can't tell if your on a table or floor, but if you can't see what your doing you won't get it until your really good.
