Welding

I didn't have a lot of time to be messing with this seeing how I keep getting called off for service calls. Third time I ground it all the way down. Then I made  6 or 7 passes over it. I will report back whether it holds water or not. Will be filling it after lunch. Unless I get another service call.IMG_20181130_111715871.jpg

Welp!, guess what, I got another forkin service call. Until next week folks. Put the drum roll on pause.

The funniest thing. Walk around with a bottle of water and just drip a little under a bunch of sprinkler heads.

I'm getting better. Takes lots of practice. Oh, and a good welder.

I'm assuming that you are welding that with a push-pull gun? Very-very nice! What size of wire do you use in that application?

Yes on push/pull. We are using 3/64 for most applications. You can do the same thing with a spool gun but for us they were a pain in the butt. Kinda bulky and heavy and changing a gazillion spools a day sucks!

Thanks for the feedback! Also, sorry for the quick hijack guys. Again, I know you do it for a living but VERY nice!

I am not a welder but it looks solid on the inside.

My buddy said "It looks like someone picked on it" made me laugh....

You never responded about polarity. When you have it backwards the flux core wire acts like it wants to jump off the surface instead of sink in.

As a noob, when you hear everyone preaching "practice, practice, practice", it's easy to think you're practicing some magical wrist motion that creates perfect beads on everything you touch. In reality you're practicing watching and reading the puddle so you adjust what you're doing accordingly. If you don't have a good view of the puddle you're just guessing and hoping.
