Well, Big Ugly's officially a project and not a vehicle

What's the difference you might ask?

Vehicles have tires and wheels and can move from one spot to another. Big Ugly has neither right now and is sorta beached.

Now to get those 11.00R16 Michelins and some 16" OEM wheels...:D

I hope so. I just hope they fit like I've been told. I can do some trimming but as soon as it requires body work skill I'm out of my league.

Yeah, by about 3" in every dimension.

Small garages suck.

Demolish the whole thing and put up the largest pole barn you can possibly fit...wait you live in the Heights...

Got the new wheels. Practically new take off wheels from a 2007 GMC 3500 van. They have some road grime from the week the guy drove them last winter but other than that they're spotless. 16x6.5 with about 5" of backspacing to the outer edge of the bead.:D
ORD steering brace and 1" zero rates are supposed to arrive on Monday. The XL's will be here Wednesday hopefully. After that it's just a bulk package or two of airsoft pellets and finding a local tire place that is competent enough to do the job.

Oh yeah and making them fit...:grind::hack::1zhelp::D:wink1::laugh::doah:

If you run into clearance issues that require more than just minor trimming, you may want to try ORD's 1" BL, and some new cab bushings. Those wheels should keep trimming to a minimum though.

That's the hope. The bushings and body lift are on the "possibles" list but we'll see how much cab to door frame clearance I have after this part is all done.

Damn, where are all my message notifications going?

Right now it's looking like the rear might not even need trimming.

Definitely going to be some cutting going on.

What's the favored cutting discs if one were to trim the body with an air powered cutting wheel?
Going to have to nip back to the firewall in the rear part of the front wheel well and probably take the edge off of the front of the same well. We'll see how much after the axle moves forwards an inch or so.

The rear will at least need to have the lower edges trimmed back on each side of the tire.

I'm diggin' it!:cool1:
