Well everyone has a build thread so... UPDATE 9/10 K5 is down again.

Hey mudman thanks for the pic.

Vortec, I think you are right. That could be a possibility. I wonder if the shaft would hit it under compression?

Have the crossover go under closer to the engine oil pan. Will have more clearance from the shaft and not hang down ungodly low. Another option is true duals. I made mine for 10 bucks plus 60 for 2 dynomax bullets.

yeah i would get rid of the crossover it just takes straight pipe and props on the bullets, i have them in 2 1/2 inch myself and they loud at 7k

as for the front shaft i would get longer for like 180 bux you can get a new one if you run that one too long it will either slip out or wear out and get loose then break and you dont want that for it will smack everything ie. oil pan then you will look like this-

Well me and some buddys took some poser flex pics. First up is my K5.

This is my friend Andrew's Truck. Its a 96 Chevy 2wd. Yes those are 20's. The truck does have the govlock in the back though. And even though its on some bling wheels, he will take the truck out and pound on it.

This is my buddy, Bo's truck. It's a stock z-71 with 285s on it. He did crank the tortion bars 5 rounds.

The front shaft still hits my exhaust but it seems like the rear slipyoke is ok. I may still get it lengthened for peace of mind, but it didnt come close to slipping out and i had it flexed pretty dang good.

I like how you have your exhuast done.

Does it have any ill effects on the tcase with the exhaust that close?

Well yall, look what I got in the mail today from summit. I got me a Lockright for my 14 bolt rear. This will be installed on Saturday, so expect pics and a full writeup.

not really i havent noticed any overheating or anything with it right there. its a few inches away so i think thats adequate space for heat?:dunno: i just like it. if you need more pics let me know.

To me the detroit and the lockright are pretty close to the same thing, since they are both "lunchbox" lockers. And the detroit is 100 dollars more than the lockright, so for me the choice was easy.

Well I am about done with a full write up on installing the locker. That should be up soon.

However, I hit a real problem. I broke the yoke at the tcase last night trying to pull out a buddy. I think the ujoint failed and took out the ear of the yoke.

I went to O'Riellys to order a yoke but they asked me if my yoke is welded or flanged.

What does this mean?

Is there another yoke I should use to get a bigger u joint there?

Post up your thoughts.

oh crap dude. me an manny were just talkin about this! flanged is like you bolt it to the TC like the front shaft is and probably welded is the slip yoke type deal on the 208. thats probably what they mean. but i dont really know. sorry...
