Well, it happened...

I'm right there with you. My regional office was supposed to be closed down permanently a few weeks back but they are discovering how much they needed us. Unfortunately, the paperwork was already pushed through so we expect to be phased out by the end of the month! /forums/images/icons/frown.gif.

Ever notice how "they" are never the ones who get the shaft? No matter how a company is "right sized", management almost always remains intact. Moved around maybe, but generally their income and job continues, hell, they usually get bonuses and raises while others are being laid off...

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully, this will be enough to bring in the funds. I'll do my part to help out. When is the parts store going to be up? I need some Hy-steer!!!

Yeah I didn't get layed off. I got "SELECITIVE RIGHTSIZING" That's even more fun (since last October) Doing the armchair paycheck after 22 years.Hard to work on projects like that.

sorry to hear about your other job Steve... as others have noted, hopefully its just the begining of your wildly successful future as the CK5 guy. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif I have little doubt that if you can get some good deals on stuff that most k5 guys want/need that you can make some serious cash and get lots of paying members as well.

all the best,

J

Well unfortunatly for me the company I was at got rid of the manager and assistant manager (me), and the owner came in to run his own business because he couldnt afford to pay us anymore.

That sucks. What kind of work do most of you guys do.I am in construction and am busy all year.Hell I need a vaction!Brady

Yeah, I was really talking about large businesses. Small business are quite a bit different.

Good luck to you all (and me) in your job hunts.

That sux Steve, I got layed of back in October, was lucky enough to find another job a month later. I thought I'd go crazy. Good luck, what're you lookin for and I'll keep my ears open. I live here in Littleton.

Martin---

Maybe that small 4x4 shop over in Englewood is ready for you now.......

Man I am sorry to hear that. If you want to learn how to run a OD grinder or Centerless Grinder let me know and I bet I can help you out.

Sorry to hear about the Job Steve. I'm in telecom and my company has been laying off since November of 2000. From almost 100K to now about 47K people. What do ya know they just announced another 3k this afternoon. It sucks waiting for the ax to drop. The K5 was parked ofr about 18 months while I was expecting to get "optimized". If they havn't laid me off yet it probably won't happen. I hope.
Best of luck with the expansion plans. I will buy from you when you have what I need.

Steve sorry to here about your lay-off and all the others. I am in telecom and it is getting very hard to find jobs. I have been working for a start-up for the last 2 years and we are still working on getting it funded. I hope we get funded soon or I will be looking for a job also. The K5 has not been worked on for 18 mo.

Thanks guys, I hope everything works out for all of us, I might try and pick up a part time job to bridge the gap, not sure yet.

Yeah Steve sorry to hear that. At least you kinda knew it was coming. I got fired last Friday, of corse I guess I kinda deserved it when I punched my Forman in the face after I drug his butt out of his truck. He did deserve it though for not turning in my work to the corprate office which shorted me almost $850 on my paycheck. It did feel good though.
