Well, it happened...

I work for a large cable company and we just had a large "Down sizing/Restructuring" thing happen. I am a Fleet Maintenance Supr. and my department was untouched but alot of other departments were hammered. Sorry to hear about your situation, but it could be a blessing in disguise. I just joined online so my $25.00 is on the way. Can't wait to see orange...

Wow... I hope that everything works out for you Steve. After reading about all the folks here at CK5 that have lost jobs recently... makes me very greatful to still be employed. I work at a co. of about 1200 people (at least it used to be), but we went thru a brief layoff... I am head of the help desk and have 4 layers of management above me. After the smoke cleared, my dept. was untouched. PHEW!

Anyhow, I wish you luck with the CK5 expansion. Let us know if you need anything, and I'm sure plenty of people out here will respond. Thanks for being there for us Steve - now we're here for you!

It is when you have a family of five, a mortgage, car payments, and a K5 sitting in the driveway just itchin' you to work on it! I certainly wouldn't want to be in those shoes. Hats off to the people living thru this right now! Stay strong!

Guess it's time for some of us to start recruiting new paying members for the site here! I know there are a lot of K5 owners in my area, none of which appear to be on this board. Guess it's time for me to buy some K5 window stickers for my truck and print up some flyers to stick on some windshields!

Good luck, Steve... Maybe this is an opportunity in disguise? /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

sorry to hear it. best of luck!

pffft.. unemployment may be the definition of "bad". Its definitely the best way to have a slooooow K5 build up... unless you are just rich or something. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Anyway, SF isn't unemployeed anymore... hes got CK5! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Sorry to hear that Steve, I knows how ya feels. My company went from 150,000 people 7/00 to 107,000 3/02 I got it March 01. With a wife and three kids unemployment is not an option. I do metal work, machining and sheetmetal prototypes for the communications industry, and have been staying busy on my own. I wish you luck, and hope this turns into a full-time thing for you (CK5) best site out there!

I signed up a few days ago in preparation for this ;-) I will also do some local recruiting. I need to get some sticker for the K5 when and if it ever leaves the shop.

Sorry to hear the bad news for all of you. I'm in the Aerospace feild, too. So I know how it goes. I've been good at dodging layoffs, but it is hard to build up any time at one company. Do either of you (Marv/Renne) have an A&P?

Not me, my job involves fabrication of aircraft tooling and platform/scaffolding. Lot's of drill rigs and panel manipulators etc etc.

The company we were building a large project for just filed for bankruptcy or protection from their creditors so the project was halted...prolly end up in storage for a while at the very least.

Sorry to hear, but anyone who can take this site from where it was when I first started posting to where it is today, can accomplish anything./forums/images/icons/cool.gif I have (as do many others) little doubt that you will be rich beyond your own dreams. Now would be a good time to buy that lit"l shop in Denver./forums/images/icons/smile.gif/forums/images/icons/smile.gif/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Later Mi Amigo and best of luck
