Welp, the 2019 Chevy Blazer dropped today...

If there is no market for body on frame straight axle 4x4 why did heep do this?

I've always been a fan of wagons. They're still alive and kicking even though everyone says they're dead. They just made them fat and started calling them 'crossovers' or 'mid-size suvs'...

I think it would the most satisfying to watch a buncha real blazers crawl over and crush the abomination.

Wish we could find a wrecked one cheap in Moab and do a photo op with one tire of four different K5s on each corner of the thing and blast it all over social media in hopes someone from GM higharchy would see it and know how we feel about it. Maybe then they’d build us something to be proud of.

Meh, just another undistinguishable station wagon with mediocre gas mileage. I'd rather have a Jetta sport wagon TDI. At least I'd get 40+ mpg.
Yeah I was suprised to read the MPG on this new "blazer" 18mpg is the same as what my old 86 M1009 got and that was with the 37" tires on it too.

I just have a hard time seeing what the point of this vehicle is. In that article posted earlier, it said it has nearly the same cargo space as the Equinox. So why get this over an Equinox? Paying quite a bit more for a little bit different exterior styling?

It doesn't make much sense to truck enthusiasts like ourselves but gm is producing what the masses are after, crossover suv's with frilly stuff and flashy appearances. It's competing in a class of vehicle that all other manufacturers are in. The "blazer" name really doesn't have any significance. I guess the people that don't have expensive hobbies like us have disposable income for these things :dunno:

My daily driver is a 2013 Equinox. 4cyl, bottom of the barrel as far as options go. The only reason I have it is because my dad bought it for my mom and she passed away when the vehicle only had 3,000 miles on it. So to help him out, I bought it off of him. My dad always buys the biggest engine available when he gets a new vehicle. But the only way he could have gotten the V6 in the equinox was if he got it with a whole bunch of other options that they didn't want. The way the rear cargo area is shaped, makes it annoying for hauling most things. Though I still manage to haul fenders, bumpers, and even a short block once (which cracked the plastic spare tire cover, oops)

What it really means is that Chevrolet is failing in the truck market and so desperate they have to use the iconic name of their once flagship SUV to draw interest in a clone crv...bottom line. Weak leadership.
