I've watched that video a couple times and it seems like I can see the yoke on the diff angle up and then down just slightly and I was wondering if that was due to you being on and off the throttle. I also can't help but wonder if by all the upgrades and mods we do to our rigs if we don't change the harmonic frequencies of things.
Yes it seems to coincide with the throttle. I am sure we change the harmonics, which why we need to fine tune after we make changes. My question is whether I have enough down so when it points up the angle is still in tolerance.

When I was setting mine up (cv style) everything I saw said the dif/shaft interface should be straight relative to one another. With that being said I think I put mine about 2deg down from straight, so under load it was very straight. No wobble. Whats your measurements on that?

Mine is @ 1* down make be just a touch under 1*. I need a better angle finder, hard to get an accurate read needle is to fat.
@Bent77 what app are you using on your phone to find the angles?

It’s an iPhone, part of the “Measure” base app

Me either! But the phone works!

I’d think there’s a level or angle finder app for the android based software

yes there are a few just need to find trustworthy one that works. Never know who is writing these apps today, probably Kim Jong Un nephew Or the N Something Asses

Look at the Tremec Toolbox app for a droid. Works pretty decent. Has a couple of other nice features too.

I ended up getting a purpose built tool.

I am 9.1 on the pinion and 10.1 on the drive shafts with 4 degree shims. Should I try 5 or 6 degree ??
In which direction are the shims?
I would tend towards 8 @ the pinion because under power it would get closer to 10

I'm using an app called 'bubble' that's a level for android. haven't seen any nkorea kungfu on it.

Sounds like you're in the right ballpark on that pinion, be interesting to see if 1deg or so makes much of a difference.

Well the ac clutch burned up agian. This is the second in 2 years 4th since I had the truck. Thought I had it beat, when I rewired it.
Maybe high side pressures are climbing when rolling down the road at 2800rpm.
Going to require some testing.
The truck ran cool across I40 this morning, high ambient of 85.
While the a/c worked temps stayed below 1/2 mark.

Up date on the AC. I tried to change the compressor clutch, couldn't get the disc off. Destroyed the the shahft and bent the tool.
So I got a remanufactured compressor.
Yesterday I flushed the entire ac system, new accumulator, new o rings and my last r12 orifice tube.
Put the system under a vacuum. I have a leak the drop from 29" vacuum to 26 in 20 minutes, and 0 over night.
Going out this morning to double check my connections.
Looks like the desiccant bag failed and plugged up the system, high pressure destroyed my compressor.
Is probably my running hot with ac on, ac hadn't been used much since mid March.

I found the leak, my manifold gauge is leaking at the low side valve stem.
I vac'd it down agian and charged it.
Pressures look good 36 and 220, 96 in the garage.
Unfortunately it appears the front seal on the remained A6 is no good clutch is flinging oil.
I know these A6 compressors have been through the mill a few times, and A6 has always had an iffy front seal. So I need a New replacement.
Anyone have experience with the S6 aluminum compressor?

Ac update. My 35 yo snapon manifold gauge assembly leaks worse than ever. After in stalling the new four seasons 58098, new style aluminum compressor, which bolted right in. Needs metric bolts.
Vacuum down, would not hold a vacuum. I could see the needle move.
I ordered a cheap set from Amazon, they arrived yesterday.
Put it to use pulled a vacuum for 30 mins closed the valves, and no leak.
Charged it up and gets cold, might need to top off, finished that bottle of r12.
I have one left.
Well off to return the new remanufactured compressor that failed, and enjoy a cool ride.
