Been farting around with doing the front diff for a month or more.
Not everyday, and I seem to get side tracked with other projects.
Today I ran patterns. My 1st try at backlash ended up at .005 spec is .006 to .010. next try got me .010.

Adjusted backlash to .007.

Front axle standard rotation, driving on coast side.
Glad I used set up bearings. Needed several adjustments to get into the .005 range.
Now to make all permanent.

put new axle seals in today, after I pressed all the perm bearings and inner pinion race, didn't want to forget those.

All done, don't forget to put some grease on the lip seal.

Have the pinion bearing preload set to 19-20 inch pd 14-19 is spec for new bearings. carrier is back in and torqued down. need to install the pinion seal and new pinion nut.
Then finish the list
New
axle u joints
ball joints
spindle bearings
repack wheel bearings
assemble.

I need to decide if I want to change from raise steering arm with stock pitman arm to drop pitman arm and stock steering arm. I have both though I need to find the drop pitman.

Then solve my front drive shaft issues

Glad I clicked on your thread today.

I’m doing the same thing and am currently working on the rear. The Front Dana 44 is next and I'll definetly be checking back in here to make sure my work looks similar to yours! :)

This adapter didn't work kept slipping off the knuckle. I had to take the steering arm off to get an adapter to work. One in the kit fit perfect around ball joint, and in the recessed area in the knuckle. Didn't snap a pick.

upper going in.

there is a snap ring on lower. If Spicer had machined the underside of the upper you could snap ring it too.

no name on it, I have never seen another. wonder google photo could find it besides the ones I posted.
If I do reuse it I am going to straighten it in my press then assemble and weld the seems in a few places.
