Yeah i Kept smashing the numbers through Heath's app trying to come up with a different number. 10.75:1 was what my brain math said
The 462 heads on my old engine came to 10.2:1
I went off of a 4.030 piston, 3.48 stroke, 4.10cc valve relief in the pistons and the 0.020 deck and his gasket thickness. Changing to 4 valve relief gives it a change to 6cc which brings the calculation down to 10.36:1. Still steep but a little better.

too much on crap gas. I had to watch mine close or it would ping and diesel. 91 0nly

Dieseling is a new thing. Totally carb realated. Will have that sorted when my new float gets here.

Looking at my pile of cylinder heads 1st pair I looked at are 441
74 cc chambers.
I have another fresh .030 over 350 has oem style dish pistons and 305 heads.
Cam is probably not right for 4x4 truck. Is nos Engle ep 22h. Can't find the cam card atm

441 heads spec to 69-71 350 engines. They are one of the better open chamber heads

Now the question is should I spend money on them or just get a set of aluminum

Well, unless they're ready to go, you need $500 or so to freshen them up.
Aluminum will absorb some of the ping

Supposed to be moving crap around in shop so people can come remove install rear garage door.
But keep getting side tracked.

I tried to google up the cam, didnt have the right numbers or letters i guess. Can't really decipher the hand writing

The 350 I built in high school was +.060 trw flat tops, zero deck with 58cc heads. It BARELY made it by back when we had 92 octane. No vacuum advance and still had to be careful not to lug it or it would rattle. If I remember right it was a comp 280 magnum cam and 1.6 rockers. That damn thing kicked everyone’s ass in school.

The cam card cam ? Might be a summit 1102. I found a Summit 1103 cam card, that is a bigger cam then I would run in a truck

This may not have anything to do with your problem at all, but have you noticed a difference in the way your burb behaves from Arizona fuel, vs. California fuel?

Only if I mix in the hot boat gas @ $6+ a gallon. I did it once, on the way back to Ca a year or so ago, not towing. The truck really performed well, seat of pants Dyno
Other wise I think most all the gas stations have blended gas.
