what front drive shaft do you have?

Do a square drive shaft like me. Unless you need to be in 4wd at 30 mph lol.

It's tempting.....

That is what I keep coming back to. I have a flexy front and need prob 12 inches of slip. The Denny's look good too but only seem to go up to 4 inch lift.

HAD are gonna be pricey but I know it will work. I just wish I could find something that with $100 or $200 work could be modified to fit great but I can't find it.

I hear ya, I'm in the same boat.

Yea no. That isn't gonna work. I am gonna call Denny's and see what they have to say.

I respect Jesse a ton and his shafts absolutely kick ass and imo are the best, which is why I went with him for the rear. For the front I have a different set of needs. I need more flex and slip but the balance isn't quite as important. I just want to find a cheaper shaft I can build up to suit my needs.

Theres really no middle of the road here. Some people dont like square shafts but in all reality itll do everything you want unless you want to be able to get up to freeway speed while in 4wd, then you just have to pony up the dough for a good shaft. There are ways to balance them, not perfectly but good enough. Ive looked into this stuff quite a bit. If you price out what it takes to make a decent shaft for your needs its big bucks. An 8 inch slip alone without the yoke is $250. It may be worth it to call some smaller driveline shops to see if they have any spare shafts, ive done it before and they usually have something. Never know.

Do all the superdutys have the smaller hole on the cv? Can that be holesawed out. $250 vs $800 is nice
I don't know if they all use the 2" hole or not. as far as a hole saw goes, I don't think that would work. The hole for the Chevy is something like 3.18" and needs to fit tight to center the drive shaft.

The Chevy type cv joints were a dime a dozen at the junk yard I went to. If it would be worth the shipping I could pick one up for you if you really can't find one local.

if you can find a super duty for $50 that a STEAL. You can get them used for $150-200 on ebay.
I paid $99 for mine. The drive shaft shop knew the place where I got it and said I probably could have gotten it for $75-80 if I would have tried. :dunno:

So will the Ford work for a rear driveline on the 241 with a sye?
Yes. I got mine cut to size and installed today. Works like a champ. (assuming of course you get the sye with the flange)
