What happen to the search option?????

It can take a little time.
If it doesn't fix itself in a little while then post in the feedback forum so Steve will see it.

Why don't you jusk ask about what you were going to search for? We probably know the answer or will give you the link. Some of us are nice guys.

Use google to search it then.

Oddly enough, a google search of the site doesn't return nearly as many results as the internal CK5 search does - not sure why.

As an example, I originally showed up on CK5 some years ago looking for info on Hickey Sidewinder winches (and quickly became a member). An internal search on "Hickey Sidewinder" returns 13 results, and they're pretty informative.

A Google search of "hickey sidewinder site:www.coloradok5.com" only returns 4 results, and two of those are from a member's sig line (gnihcraes):
http://www.google.com/search?client...loradok5.com&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

I believe a search tool to be a basic function of any website, not a premium add-on. The other benefits of being a CK5 member easily justify the membership fee. For me, it was the ability to see all the excellent photos that sucked the first $25 out of my wallet, and the quality of info over the years has kept the payments coming.

Unless there is a technical reason why search is disabled for non-members, I'm afraid it's shortsighted to expect a prospective new member to buy a pig in a poke by not allowing them to search.

Just my opinion,

While I understand both sides of the arguement, I have to say - as a paid member - that having basic forum functionality being taken away unless you pay up leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Non paying users seem to be getting boxed into a tighter and tighter corner. Without forum search ability (assuming that Google does not return the same results as the built in search does) how will a prospective member know if he is getting any value for his $25? Is he expected to just pony up and hope it was worth it?

Membership should be something that is encouraged. Reponses telling someone to go away because they disagree with the owners decisions will not encourage new membership.

my $0.02

eh, personally I'm not concerned with "new" membership.. the # of paid members seems to have gone up a ton in the last year, year and a half..

lots and lots of new faces in here in that time... then again I may just be haluciginating... :o:haha:

My membership still hasnt kicked in??? I will post in the feed back forum.

This info I was looking for was reguarding bent axle shafts on my 79 blazer.

it has an odd vibration once over 40MPH.

When I got it, I had it smogged, when they smogged it, they put it up on a dyno, I notices that the rear end of the truck would bounce up and down while they were running it, I could see that the actual rim looked to be bent.

I have since replaced the rims and tires with a brand spankin new set. the vibration was still presant, and when I went to get it smogged (a week ago) I notice the same exact issue with bouncing, and what apears to be bent rims.

It is the rear axle that is in question...is it possible that the actual axle shafts are bent?

BTW, I have a 4" lift with 35" tsl, that previous tires/rims were also 35s.

Could also be the axle housing. Doesn't have to be seriously bent (ie visible to the untrained eye) to cause issues.

Well, it'd be forcing the axleshafts and stuff to work outside of their intended angles and positions.

What would be the best way to check for a bent house, and/or axles?

Dial Indicator on the axle plate were the lugs are mounted?
