I broke a standard Warn, I have no idea how. I don't wheel hard. Hell, I haven't wheeled anything harder than poorly maintained forest service roads in two years. I've got Warn premiums now, can't say much about them other than they haven't broken yet.

I'm voting superwinch. I shattered one of their hubs two years after I bought them, put on a set of warns and shattered them in two wheeling trips, put on another set of superwinch hubs and three years later they're holding up great!

Just remember brass or ss dials are more prone to corrosion than plastic which don't corrode. If you are using it offroad with a Lot of rocks the metal ones may be more beneficial but if its just a daily driver i would go with the plastic ones so you don't have to worry about the dial freezing up.

No experience with warns, only flanges.
But my cousin wheels a D60 and didn't like the MM, went to Superwinch and was much happier for their strength. Neither of us know much about Warns.

Not even listed as an option, but the stock Spicer hubs have served me well. I don't use 4WD often either.

Not sure who made the black plastic dial later types (what are used on the CUCV's with 10B) but the yellow dial ones are Spicer, and no idea when GM stopped using that style.

I just through up those few cause I dont know any other brands:dunno:. I'm not buying anything for about a week. I'll see where this poll lands and what options I can find around.

I love this site:thumb:

i just saw this and was going to say go with the MM's, i had the regulars and beat the living piss out of them, they survived much longer than the 14bsf i had in the rear of the truck. and i went through a 700r4 slamming it between forward and reverse with the pedal to the boards.

I have both the hubs and this conversion kit available in town. but I dont wanna buy the conv. kit if I dont have to. its almost as much as the hubs are:doah:

Never needed a conversion kit so I don't know what it's for.

Well after much consideration... I'm doing the milemarker supremes cause I dont have to order them and $87 isnt out of line. I need them and SOON. so i'm picking them up tonight afterwork.
Was stuck in the front yard AGAIN

When converting from auto to manual do I need this kit or one like it??

No, I don't think so. Those should already be in your spindle/hub assembly. If anything, you could buy just the two nuts with the little "nubs" on them. Sometimes when they get torn apart in the past the person mixes up the assembly order and forgets the locking ring and then sheers off the "nub".

Not against used, but need them like yesterday:dunno: I plan on having them on tomorrow morning. should have had them in 2 weeks ago.

Just thrying to get up in my yard where I park it I had to put it in 4 last night. Felt them engage and started up the little hill and the front went BANG and back down I went. then before I even let off it grabbed again and made a louder noise. Its a 1.5' high 45* hill:doah:

I didnt figure I needed them nuts but I've seen them "conversion kit"s in a few different places. Summit claims you need them to go from auto to manual hubs. I wouldnt know why??? I'll see when I get in there. If I need them I'll just go get 'em then I guess.

I bought these recently on ebay.

They seem nice and heavy duty.

I don't quite understand how they work though lol. I feel like they are missing something lol
