What is a REAL truck?

It looks like the rear is sagging lower then the front. How much weight ya got there on the 5th wheel? Your bigger tires takes away a lot of HP that could have been used for better towing. IMO... I don't classify it as a truck.

Let's add #16: A Real truck has a winch:D

The tractor weighs 12k and the trailer weighs about 7k, so with about 4k of tongue weight I'm ok with squatting the rear a couple inches. Also, my tires match my gearing perfectly, if i went with shorter tires I'd have the motor wound up too high to be able to tow at speed. Right now in 5th gear at 70 mph I'm at 1800 rpm (right at the torque peak of the cummins)

I built it, i use it, and i love it. It does exactly what it was meant to do

I've got to get this out there.

Are you trolling, or just an idiot?

i would add the last one as under the age of 16?

not every truck in the world is meant to be off road, by that rational a semi is not considered a truck? this thread is full of retard.

I like your rig! It's nice! Do you think a smaller tire with a higher gear ratio could keep you at 1800 rpm at 70mph?

Just my opinion boss:thumb:

I don't consider a Semi as a "Truck" I consider it as a "Commercial Vehicle" :D

This thread makes no sense.

You could have a truck meant for sand drags

A truck meant for towing

A truck for running over huge whoops at 60 mph

A daily driver

Etc...

All of those are built different because of the needs of the vehicle. So you have tons of different scenarios.

If you don't say what your specific needs are for the rig, then you won't receive good feedback.

And if you don't think that cummins CC is a real truck, then idk wtf a real truck is.

With this analogy, a motorcycle could be classified as a truck:dunno:

There are thousands of people who haul more in a day with a motorcycle than you will prolly haul in your life with your k5. And on top of that, you can't haul 4x8's in a k5, soooo you can scratch them of my list of what is a truck...

I defiantly do not consider my K5 as a truck. It's farrrrrrr from it.

It took me awhile of searching but I consider this as a truck... Except for the pretty part.

That's not a truck. Trucks don't have multiple steering stabalizers!:flipoff7:

See! We all have our opinion of what a Real truck is. I'm not trying to pi•• people off. I'm trying to have a discussion of what is a REAL truck and IMO that's where I stand:)

At what point does a truck no longer be classified as a truck after doing so many modifications to it? I would say that since we all have our opinions, there is no Fine line.

When all the body panels have been ripped off by rocks or excessive damage, and nothing is left but a frame and a tube roll cage system... THEN it's a truggy.. :D

the problem with this thread/your direction, is you are asking for opinions, but stating your opinion as fact?
thats not a discussion, its hey you come hear how awesome the voices in my head are. it sounds like in your head you have already decided what makes the perfect truck, so then why even have a thread asking what makes the perfect truck? its poppycock, all of it. :dunno:

Why is this thread in a tech forum to begin with?? We have a Lounge for chit chat b/s, use it. :surepal:

My k5 can carry 4 x 8 plywood just fine. I wouldn't call it a truck though. When midifications make the vehicle only a one use thing such as wheeling, it's still a truck. Just makes it a purpose built truck. Commercial vehicle is a tractor.
