Whatchya building for BB17?

Besides fixing things that I break throughout 2017, my rig is ready to go. I would like to have the crew cab done to be able to tow down there assuming I can make the trip this year (which I think I will)

Gonna have your bed camper by then too?

That would be ideal....but we will see. Since we are moving to ID, kinda throws a wrench in some plans like that (especially because we are going to be renting so limited space to keep stuff, and roughly by BB next year, we will be looking to purchase a home). So in all reality, if I can just have the crew cab running real good to be able to tow, I will be happy

Wait! What? You're moving to Idaho?

Yep, house is already under contract (we close on the 30th), wife got a really good job offer up there and my work is letting me transfer up there. We are moving up mid-December. We have wanted to move up there for a while (wife grew up in ID and I spent time there for school and church stuff), plus, CO is getting pretty annoying with the high priced property/homes and all the weirdo's moving in, at least in the Denver area. We had just had enough of it, our kids are still young (and so are we) that we decided if we really wanted to do this now would be the ideal time to make a run at it. And everything has just fell into place to make the move easy. We just got back last night from being up in Boise for the weekend nailing down a rental and figuring out where the new job offices will be. We are excited to move there....plus, ID has open carry laws which makes me really happy!!

So like I said, I need to make BB a yearly thing now so I can still wheel with you guys at least once a year (or if I can convince you guys to come up to ID and wheel??)

If we didn't have an established business and most all my family here I would be looking to move out of state

That's funny I too was up in Idaho checking things out this past weekend.(drove like 1100 miles there and back) We move up on the fri after Thanksgiving. Glad to hear you got your house going so fast. I sure wish mine here in Moab was under contract already. We are really excited to move up there also. Maybe we will have to start making a convoy from Idaho to Blazer Bash.

My wife and I are looking there. Are going up after the 1st of the year to see winter there.

We are moving up December 11th (wife starts her new job on the 15th). I've spent some time in Boise during the winter before...very similar to CO winters but I would say less snow. You should move up there, then we can explore the ID wheeling!!

C'mon...you know you want to move to ID!!

Yeah, we left after work on Thursday night and drove to my sisters house in Evanston, WY, slept a couple hrs and drove the rest of the way Friday. We spent Friday and Saturday looking for homes to rent (we think we found one, hoping the rental application goes through just fine) and then drove back home on Sunday...was a pretty long driving weekend, but it was fun being up in Boise. You said you will be on the Southeast side of ID correct? I want to do some wheeling over there too, so find some stuff out and I'll make the trip over there!

You guys could probably talk @blazinzuk into Idaho wheeling pretty easily...

Yeah, he is pretty close to ID still just across the boarder into WY. I think if we have a trail run going on the SE side of the state, he would probably come over for it...shoot, I'm hoping he can show me some good wheeling spots over there!

Cool! My wife has cousins in Evanston. I'll be living just north of Idaho Falls for now and working in Rexburg which is about 25 min north. I can't wait to go find new wheeling areas to explore. Might have to drive a little farther than I do in Moab but should be fun. Yellowstone is also only 100 miles from where we will be.

I lived in Rigby and went to college in Rexburg...in fact another one of my sisters is there right now...I loved SE Idaho...really cool place!

I like their potatoes.

1 item on the list: Try to build a cage, but if not I'm still going.

I'm thinking everyone is moving to Idaho and it's going to mean changing CK5 to IK5.
Maybe then we can just get @ktmoutfront to haul a 48 ft low boy with all our rigs to blazer bash behind his big rig.
On topic, I need a new rear driveshaft before next year's bash and hopefully get my 52" front spring swap done during the long idaho winter since I'll have a garage I can work inside of. got a few side projects that need taking care of too and we will see about any other blazer upgrades.

the suburban will no doubt get a few things before BB17 but it could go as is and handle it just fine. i guess if i had to make a list it'd go like this.

new tires
new shocks
traction bar
roof rack
a better platform/sleeping setup
skid plates
rear shock mounts

OR

trailer light wiring
a flat bed
a smaller, lighter trail rig.
