Thads an 80s aluminum for a Qjet. The triangle part is for an EGR valve

So there is alot to this really, but basically, a quadrajet is a spread bore and the edelbrock you have is a squre bore. THey mount differently hense the adapter between the carb and intake on your setup.

So that intake was desgined for a quadrajet.
Yes in my opinion you shoud get a quadrajet. Not only would it be the original carb for that truck, but they seem to get better MPG than the aftermarket carbs.

Nah, the stage one is just a proper reubuild without any of the fancy stuff.

You can also get them wherever. You can get them at napa, autozone etc but they are usually not rebuilt as good. Also you would have to pay a core charge. There is alwayws the junkyards!

Looks like the climatic choke requires a hookup in the manifold for a pipe...
heck, we're charging about $700 for a remanned quad these day's on the boats...

Close, there are three types of chokes. Heat stove, the one with the pipe that goes inside the intake, and the electric. Respectivly time wise.
If I order the engine wiring harness for HEI, will it have electric choke wires or no?

That im not too sure about. Suppose it depends on what year you order?
Also, Im certainly not advocating you towards electric choke tho they do seem to work best in my opinion. I have also owned a few rigs with the heat stove style like would be correct for your rig and liked them just fine. They are a good design and work. Over many years of heat the metal seems to not respnd to the heat as well and needs replaced but no big deal. If it were possible, (and it is) i would stick with HEI and heat stove choke.
