those numbers are...well..questionable at best
I think whiteknight did good at this but there linkage or pedal was jacked. For a messed up rig the time was still good.

i think the knight had some engine problems, some fuel injection stuff. Pretty sure they switched fuel injection systems after the challenge.

that white knight's probablya scary ride cause that thing is like 8 feet tall!!!!! with an almost 500ci big block on nitrous...whoa nelly!
Top truck challenge is slightly shorter then a 1/4 mile. it's a shame they don't do the acceleration anymore. Stephen's rig is still awesome. he makes some great stuff too.

This was my very first pass and left when the light turned green. (oops
) You are supposed to leave when the last staging light hits so you go across the beam as the green light hits. Also, my truck defuels hard on the top end due to EGT's and a small turbo.
Now that I've learned how to actually leave the line (
), a new larger turbo, and some decent weather that isn't over 100*, I should be in the mid 14's.

My K5 would be terrible, probably 18's or 19's. People don't relize how hard it is to turn low ET's when they have never raced on a strip. You learn how fast a 14-15 second vehicle really is.

Thats cheap, I have almost $4k in my 47RE that is built. i think i've got around 1500 in my 700r4 and it holds up very well so far. double clutch packs, corvette servo, 4l60 sun shield...blah blah blah. I'ts the economical way to go fo sho.

The 4L80E I saw was off the 700raptor site. Had a full manual VB and all that. Really appealing but big $$. I think the 700 will hold up. Big cooler plus I don't rock crawl or anything like that and some steep gears, i should be good.
Yah um TTC isn't a quarter mile, and a couple people with a stopwatch doesn't really count as an accurate or compareable "1/4 mile track time".
I like how some people are guessing 13's or 14's but the only people in this thread who have actually ran their rig down the track pulled right around a 16 second time.

my buddy's got a dodge with 1400 ft/lbs at the tires and it only runs low 13's. If he had an auto it would probably get 12's. granted it weighs around 7000lbs. but no ones blazer is pullin as hard as that s.o.b. I would guess 800 horsies would net you in the 12 range if you were on 35's with 4.56 gears and overdrive...oh and if you don't break :-P

got 17 flat outta my 77 short bed chevy with a 350/th350/203, 4" lift, 31" tires,and 4.10 gears. it was loaded with a dual chrome roll bar with lights and pushing 2 ac compressors, (1 for ac and the other for on board air). it has 64cc cast iron world product heads with full rollers, and i dont remember the cam. but im sure it was a rv cam.

i think they stopped doing the "quarter mile" at ttc because it was kinda a joke.

Obviously you don't know anything personally about 1/4 racing. The tree is part of the challenge, the fun, and what really adds the competition to the sport. To boot, it's sweet getting your slip with a great reaction.
Actually the clock does start when your front tires break the beams, not when the tree shows green..
