whats your daily driver

When my wife bought her Jeep Wrangler Unlimited a few years ago, it made way less sense to buy used.

I don't want a new truck I would be happy as heck with 06 and back 2500 or something to tow my K5 and not worry truck being able to tow. Leaves slim choices 6.0,8.1 and diesel which I don't know anything about and has to be a CC.

In many ways something like that definitely makes sense. Especially when you catch 0% interest for year or more.

New cars are very similar to racing motocross. If you buy and sell a new bike every year you stay in the money. It's not that you need a new one it's that you'll lose your ass if you wait too long.

in Wyoming I was daily driving my 72 K5 during summer, but summer was on a Tuesday and I was out of town. :D

I was daily driving my 90 suburban until last week when I bought a 2005 dodge ram 1500 crew cab

It al depends on the day. Picked up the Navigator a month or so ago. It's the bees knees. A buddy asked me why I went with an SUV instead of a pick up. After looking, I realized you can't buy a decent pick-up for $10,000 If you want a full size 4x4 extended cab or larger with under 100,000 miles, you gotta spend $15,000. And I didn't want to spend that much. So I bought this big fancy bitch. And it will do anything I would ever ask a pick-up to do, short of hauling bulk topsoil. And this will do it with the THX stereo cranking and air conditioned seats!20160403_145411.jpg 20160212_151245.jpg

I wont ever be able to afford a new car. I dont want a new car.

Its actually really nice to have a car you can hop in and know you dont need to check things or fear something will not work....

Its like one of the nicest things after driving shit vehicles forever.

I didn't know such a vehicle exists...

I cant seem to get that feeling of confidence in anything I've driven--brand new cars owned by relatives,or my old clunkers..

I actually feel better in my old junks,at least I have a prayer of being able to fix something on the side of the road on them, like a fan belt,hose,etc...
New cars, forget it--cant even SEE the engine, and its an involved process to fix anything on one,and "old school" guys like me are useless under a new vehicles hood..--call a tow truck, and prepare to blow enough cash to buy another trusty but rusty old square body GM, to fix it..

1995 Half ton 4wd Dodge, 360 with a 47RH behind it (Yes I know the 47RH never came stock in a half ton) and an NP231HD behind that, with a 9.25 Chrysler in the rear, with a 44 up front, all stock with 3:55 gears.

My uncle ordered it brand new in 95, I got it 3 years ago with 73,000 miles on it, (11 miles on the Chrysler crate 47RH) and now its right at 96,000.
Since I got it I've done a 3 inch Rough Country cheapo lift, adjustable track bar, and 35 inch Toyos, But I'm thinking of going back to a 33, just for the transmissions sake.

( I also stuck the grill guard on it, but since the bumper is slightly bent, It came back off, and is going on the Cummins)

The GF has a 2013 Ford Escape. I like it but to many things that go off sensor wise.

Grandma bought new in 2000, uncle drove from 2012-2015, now I have it @122k miles. Drives nice for my HOUR LONG 13 mile one way commute :doah:

Once I get the bugs worked out, this will split DD duties. It's too much fun to let it sit next to the Blazer. (haulin duties NON work related)
