Whats your DD?

89 chevy suburban 1500. 4x4 tbi 350 with OD and 33inch tires. Average's 13-15mpg with a mix of city and hwy. 400 miles a week plus a few weekend road trips.

Its comfortable, powerfull, handles any situation I need it to, carrys everything and is even reliable for 3-4 weeks at a time with out any repairs.

In the summer I sometimes drive my 65 thunderbird, 5300lbs, 400plus hp big block 390. never figured out the gas milage, but lets be realistic it aint great.

Tried the honda crx HF thing for about a month last year. 64mpg hwy 45-50 city. Would have been fun if I were on a track with other go carts. I hated it. No power, your ridding in a tin can 4 inches from the ground. Could not carry anything at all, and a ford explorer looked like a it could have been a 40 ton earth mover after looking up from that little rear view mirror. Add in an insurance bill 3x higher than my burban and it was on ebay and gone in a week.

I did use the gas prices(and the fact that I have always loved them as just cool vehicles) as an excuse to buy a 4cyl this week however. I should have a 59 Jeep cj5 to play with this summer. Yes I know they aren't great on gas and ride like a 3 leg horse on the highway, but don't ruin my fun by reminding me.

Overall gas prices suck, but nothing I can do about it, I need and like to drive cars that require more gasoline. I just accept it.

Strokers Luv Gas

I stroked out a 350 to 383, invested close to $13,000 on NEW EVERYTHING that is involved in DriveTrain. Well as a result I get Close to 7mpg, But I can run the 1/4 in under 15 sec... Does anyone know a good site to try and sell a 83 Primo Blazer for around $25 G's??? :D

ive got a 91 GMC C1500... i hate that damn thing. its too small, the 700r4 sucks (and its in perfect condition i just dont like how they act) and its falling apart.

I drive a 94 chevy corisica.. Gets about 24-29 depending on how I drive. If I get tired of that I'll just steal my g/f 99 grand am GT :) The K5 used to be a DD but its more of a play thing now. Doesn't matter how I drive that its a constant 8mpg. need a tune up bad!

I ride one of these everyday rain or shine :D I get 45 to 65 mpg.

You have the coolest ride! :D Thats more then I thought they got, I thoguht it was only 40 MPG. Now I want one again, lol.

Subaru WRX wagon. Fast, spacious and it all wheel drive (hey it's close enough right?) I only get, on average, 20 mpg. I think it might be the combination of turbo with a size 13. I haven't figured it out yet........:dunno:

my dd is the 82 silverado in my signature. For now. I am seriously, seriously thinking about selling my 84 that was going to be the base for a 3116 cat I-6 conversion in a couple years to buy a nice stocker 4x4 burb for my new dd :D

89 Isuzu Pickup... I bought it 3 years ago for $1000 and put a timing belt in it about a year and a half ago... It gets great mileage and has air... What more could one want? Hauls parts and my fat a$$ around great...

I was DD'ing my '69 for a little over a year until the Rockwell transfer case locked up on me @ 55 mph.

Then I took over my dad's embarrassing spare car, the '91 Ford Festiva. Looked like a jellybean, but that was ok because it got 55 mpg, no matter how I drove it. Then the exhaust fell off and it blew a rear whl cylinder, so we sold it for scrap.

Now I have an '88 Buick Lesabre that I bought off a little old lady, it had 77k on the clock one year ago, now has 96k. 3800 series I V6, TH-4T60E, 2.73 gears. On a recent trip to Niagara Falls it netted an impressive 27-28 mpg @ 75 mph. Its ugly, but dependable.

89' Toyota Camry w/189000 & still getting 30+ MPG,just picked up a 90' with
less miles & in better shape. And when it's not snowing or raining I ride my 04'
CBR 1000RR

my 89k5, but still got the stupid chip from the PO, so i run 91octane. 2.80 a gallon here.. i need to get a stock chip QUICK. my truck only gets 8-10mpg with my driving style. luckily i dont commute to work

I drive my 89, 305 / 700r4 combo. I'm getting about 18 mpg. I've got EGR issues, so once I fix that I can probally be in the 20s :) I gotta drive it nice to get that kind of milage though...

Right now a 96 S10 Blazer fourdoor with the 4.3 Vortec, its a doggy pos that doesnt get jack for mileage, 16-17 area. This summer if I can get a tranny in it I may start driving my 86 C10, with the 6.2 if I can get a new Clutch Ill have AC in it too :D I used to drive my 83 GMC daily but it has become to unreliable, so a rebuild of the drivetrain and wireing will take place before that happys again
