You want to hear a funny story??
Once upon a time, I started getting interested in doing more track events in my 911. Up to that point I'd dabbled in autocrossing and a few drivers ed events, but nothing too serious...and nothing on a real racetrack. After a catastrophic clutch failure at my very first road course event (Thunderhill, N. Cali) and being stuck in 3rd gear all the way home. I realized that there was no feasible way to do track events without trailering my car.
So I set out to buy something to tow with that would be smog exempt and might offer some utility and fun in addition to serving the duties of occasional tow rig. I bought the Blazer with the intention of making it my tow vehicle....but then I realized that I wasn't nearly rich enough to start racing Porsches as a hobby.
Fortunately, I had also started messing around with my new "tow rig" and went to a local event called "Blazer Fest" in Hollister. It turns out that there was a sport called 4-wheeling, and people had a good time climbing rocks and hills and spinning wrenches on their vehicles. I realized that instead of going racing, I could
save a lot of money by just building up my Blazer as a hobby.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA !!!!!!!
I don't know what I would have spent racing, but I can assure you that this "Blazer Hobby" has proven to be an all-consuming, money hungry monster in it's own right!!!
