No guessing here.....I had my Blazer weighed on 4-Corner Scales at a local race shop:

L.F. = 1113
R.F. = 1285
L.R. = 1297
R.R. = 1121

Total weight = 4819 Lbs
Weight Distribution F/R: 2398 / 2418
Distribution Percentages: 49.79% / 50.21%

Configuration:
1972 Blazer with Factory Hardtop
35" Tires on Aluminum Wheels
D44 Front / 12-Bolt Rear axles
No Carpet - Though the roughly 100Lbs of stereo gear compensates
1/2 Tank of Fuel in an ~18 Gallon Tank.

Measurements listed above are without me in the truck...Add another 180 Lbs to the overall weight for that!!!

How did you end up with a higher rear bias???

L.F. = 1113
R.F. = 1285
L.R. = 1297
R.R. = 1121

Also interesting is the 172 lb difference from side to side up front. ~75 lbs I could see being the battery...

Then the opposite happening in the rear with the left weighing 176 lbs more.

:thinking: :thinking: :thinking:

Race car scales measure what is accually on the tire so if his suspension was jacked on one side futher than the other or sway bar tighter on one side then the other thats why it reads a little different. Just having the shocks a little different will get you that as will the location of the pumpkin gas tank pretty much anything thats why the NASCAR guys get paid like they do and why it takes so much effort to get a car to go fast.
It is really measuring how much weight is on that tire or wheel not how much it weighs. That number cant be changed unless you take weight out of the vehicle.

Auto manufacturers used to build vehicles with 1-2 inches of offset to the drivetrain-offset to the passenger side. This way, with a driver in the vehicle, the side to side weight would be closer to even. Don't know if this is still being done or not.

Don't worry too much about it Rene....those values are more of a "history lesson" now. There have been about 1,357,299 changes made to the K5 since then. Most of them involved adding something heavier than what was removed! :D

80 K20 Longbed
SBC
33" A/T's
Two 20 gal fuel tanks fully loaded with driver (195lbs)

I weight in at 5600-5650 (our scale is accurate to within 50 lbs).

I am getting ready to drop a BBC in as well as swap in the D60 I have (to replace the 10 bolt), and I'll see what weight difference there is.

my stock DD 91 k5 blazer with my arse(218lb) in it showed 5700lbs on the truck scales at dole fresh vegetables in marina,ca.

have a small amount of tools in it.

not an exact amount, its just what showed on the display outside as i was stopped to tell the guards where i was going.

I had to get my 73 K20 long bed wieghed for registration since it had been Non-Opped since '97. I came in at 4,960 pounds. I run an aluminum head 383, TH350 tranny Dana 44HD, 14 bolt with steel wheels and 35's. That was without me and about 1/4 tank of gas. I am surprised it is less than 1/2 ton K5's. But I guess all the removing of excess crap has cut alot of weight. Or its just all the rust!!
:haha: :haha:

I weighed mine when it was on 1/2 tons and 33's with aluminum wheels. No top, no rear seat, all iron 383, 465/205. Weighed 4590 w/full 31 gallon tank without me in it. I'm sure its over 5000 now, though :D .

last time weighed mine was at 4920 with 1/2 tank. I have a little more cage to add yet but have alot of body coming off so will prob balance out around 5k. 454, th400, np241, d60/14ff.

'04 crew cab short box power stroke, a small amount of gear in the bed, and a full tank; 18 foot 10,000 lb rated trailer; '89 blazer with one ton gear, 39" boggers and 5 gallons of fuel:

15,500 pounds

With me and a full tank of fuel just over 7,000lbs.
But it's a 1998 Dodge/Cummins ext shortbox, 4x4. Running 285s on 16x8 centerlines and heavy ranch hand bumpers.
Now being tow barred behind my '92 GeorgieBoy motorhome, 32' with CTD/allison power, it weighted in combined 23,000lbs w/o freshwater.

THATS A GREAT WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION. NEED TO TAKE IT TO THE DIRT TRACK :wink1: .

Just wieghed the '72 k5 (stock). Came out right at 5000lbs. Here are the specs: sb350, th350, np205, d44, c12, hard top. It's got some pretty nasty body cancer underneath, so that may take a few pounds off :doah:
