Several years ago when I had my Ranger and was putting new tires on it every other year as it grew I had a whole list of tire retailers and places that had great prices. Now...not so much. Lost the list with my last computer.

Where are the deals now? Not looking for anything super big or aggressive. A bit weird though, a LT265/75R16 in a mud or mud(ish) flavor would work just fine.

I'd even consider blems if the price was actually good.

Eh, 80 zillion results half of which are for other types of tires.

Used to know a few sites that did blems, some that were wholesalers, some with cheap shipping, etc etc etc.

No. Too small for Big Ugly and too big for The Blazer.

I just went through the same thing last month. Ended up going to discount tire, price wasn't too bad I guess 592.00. And that was for the stock 31's with decent tread.

Yeah, I have a local place I do business with that's a good bunch of guys. Going to see what they can do this week. I've had good luck with them in the past and their work is cheap but then sometimes their prices just aren't competitive. Been up here 5 years now and only bought one set of tires from them. Every other time it was cheaper to buy them online or on Ebay. Do use them for mounting and balancing.

Do you have a Costco in your neck of the woods. Sorta like a Sam's Club but I know they are at least on the left coast. Got my 35" BFG AT's from Costco and were about $150 less installed compared to the nearest competitor which was Discount tire. This was about 2.5 years ago, though.

I usually go to Discount Tire or National Tire & Battery for passenger tires and Tirepackage.com for off-road tires. I've had good luck with all three.

My local Discount sucks monkey nuts. Rude, unhelpful, lied to my face, and generally the local shop I prefer can beat their prices and I can almost always beat their prices online.

I quit using Discount a while ago for the same reasons, then I started using Big-O. Prices on my X/T's were around $160 a tire, I could have gotten BFG M/T KM2's for about $205 a tire. And they will match advertised prices!

Find a deal online and ask your local place to match. Make sure you include the shipping costs. I haven't been turned away yet.

Might look here:http://www.nebraskatire.com/hot_deals/light_truck/lt_truck_hot_deals.htm
Check out their ebay store. free shipping on most all their tires.
I bought a set of tires from them a few years back. Had no problems.

I bought a set of tires (qty. 6) from these guys few years ago for my 85 K30 Dually (255/85/16), four of them where "take offs" (still in very good condition, but not new), and the other two were new.

I called them about this, and they denied they where take offs. But after showing them some pictures of the tires, they finally had to admit they where "take offs". They refunded me $50 on the deal, and the tires have been great ever since.

I buy a lot of stuff from these people. http://www.summitracing.com/ . They have the best prices on everything you could possibly buy for car or truck performance parts.
