Where would be the best place to order a cowl induction hood for my 78 gmc jimmy? I made the mistake of ordering lmc doors that I hate so I hesitate ordering a cowl hood from them. Advice input suggestions all welcome.

Note: I'm replacing the hood because the back of the nose is rotting pretty bad and it's blistering on the front. Yeah I could probably could get it repaired but since i know its rusted through I bet it would cost more than a new hood and they look nice.

I have a new hood for my 74 in my garage. Not perfect but very solid for the price.

I bought an lmc cowl hood and it seems to be very nice.
so fitment and weight/thickness wasnt an issue? my lmc doors feel like tin cans :( it would be nice to get all my parts from one place ( hood, tailgate, seals and so on...)

The weight of it feels lighter then stock, but I don't know how much the stock juke/padding adds. I never lifted a stock hood without it.

The never really measured the thickness, but I am 99.9% sure it's thinner then a GM hood.

When I got it I did a quick and dirty test fit and found it to be reasonable, not as good as a factory hood, but not something i couldn't live with.
Mind you everyone opinions differ.
( I put a cowl hood on my 93 GMT400 and I dropped it off at a hot rod shop to have the hood color matched. I also had them put it on the truck.
When they called me a few days later to tell me my truck was done, I asked how it fit? In more or less words they told me it fit like shit.
Upon arrival I thought it fit pretty damn good, and had no problems with it or the fitment.)

But as I mentioned this was a hot rod shop that expected the best and built some high end rides.( The reason why I chose them)

That hood is a 300 dollar China swap meet special.

I'm a perfectionist lol I am trying to find the best fitting hood even if it's more expensive :)

Are you against fiberglass? I have a hardwood on my yellow truck and really like it .

Eh maybe , have to go through my photo albums when I get home

If anyone can snap some pics and post them that would be awesome! My #1 concern is fitment.

Same thing with tailgates! I am pretty sure i'm replacing that as well. id also like to figure out how to go to a manual crank vs power window if you guys know..... but lets start with the cowl hood lol

I also have bought a stepside tailgate.
I can say you can't tell a difference from a stock to a lmc one. I know it's just a tailgate but fittment was perfect on that.
