White Elephant 01 8.1 burb.

No slipping. I have stock 245 75 r16 thunk I'll go back to the 265s next set. Device's the Trans with a month of curing it,added Derale cool pan. Burbs get the 4l80e, not enough room for the Allison.IMG_20221007_121057.jpg

Few road trips add up, burb was due for an oil change. Got that done today. I can say the ole 8.1 thirst for Dino juice was somewhat tempered by 15-40 Rotella. Instead of 1 quart per 3 tanks it was @ 1 to 6. Heading out to St George tomorrow, dad's little acre plus needs some attention. lots things need trimming and the fascia boards are dry need paint or stain. Irrigation has a few leaks. I am sure my brother and I will find some other things to fix.

There's ALWAYS something, huh
So how much dino juice does the burb use ?

Heading to Big Bear via Apple Valley Tuesday. The got new front bump stops today, I think the truck may ride on them.

Cheap jungle site replacements. We'll how long they last, these seem to be a wear item. The updated Moog problem solver is $65+ea depending where you look.

Yeah, I have seen a lot of the IFS trucks that sit touching the bump stops empty.

That doesn't sound good. Doesn't that make for a pretty rough ride ?
No, not really.
I don't believe that I hear many complaints about how GM vehicles ride, but that could be my outlook.

I have adjusted the torsion bar up just a tiny bit on my truck to gain a slight increase in travel before touching the stops. I don't know if it actually helps the ride or if it's a placebo effect.

not sure yet, road test will be 240 miles to brother's place tomorrow

I've owned nothing but GM for many years, but idk about trucks I've never owned. Had 84 k10 it rode hard. Got 76 k5, it rides soft. Had 99 SilverAdo, rode like a caddy. Got a '16 SilverAdo rode like a caddy, until i put the BFG ko2 tires on it.
Just for my own info, I'd be curious to know how it does on your trip.

This is a 2500 big block suburban, it rides well. Stock size tires. Wife sleeps in passenger seat on trips regularly. Air ride suspension and it still works.
