Why Did Chevy/GMC Did Not Keep The Names "Jimmy" And "Blazer" On The Full Size Two Door Tahoes N Yuk

GM is just infatuated with re-using model names. The Blazer and Jimmy names were already doubly used once the S-10 based (GMT330) SUVs came out in 1982. The Blazer name continued on the 2-door IFS SUV from 1992-1994. After that, the miniature one was the only Blazer. The full-size Jimmy disappeared after 1991, and only sort-of re-appeared as the Yukon, so all Jimmy's were all miniature after '91. To make it more confusing, the "Trailblazer" and "Envoy" appeared as packages on the S-10 based SUVs before they were models of their own (GMT360) in 2002.

As if having the "real" (i.e. squarebody) Blazer/Jimmy be identical wasn't enough, the smaller one could be badged Blazer, Jimmy, Bravada, Trailblazer, Envoy, Xtreme or ZR2.

I still don't get why they can't just stick to a full body design and platform smh. Along with 2 doors.

Just take a Tahoe and Yukon , make it into 2 doors and that's it. The 4 door versions can still be "Yukon" and "Tahoe"

Like these?

I remember reading an article back in 2015 about GM bringing back the K5 blazer (similar to these pics above). Said there was supposed to be an announcement in 2016...well that came and went. I'll believe that they are actually bringing it back when I see it at dealerships. But I'm not holding my breath

The problem is that nobody wants 2 doors anymore, just look at truck sales. Something like 90% of all trucks sold are at least extended cab if not crew cabs. Even the smaller Colorado doesn't even come in a regular cab, only extended or crew.

In that case of extended cab, why not make two door full size quad cabs?

My know about the S10s. My elemantry scoop PE coach used to have the blazer 2 door one. In the 1990s in good condition before he passed

Yes, the 2-door GMT800 was sold in Mexico and maybe South America, but never US/Canada. If you search around, there are plenty of pictures. That new one is just a concept, I think.

The 2-door should just have baby suicide doors behind the main doors. Not as convenient as a 4-door crew cab, but much easier to get things behind the seats than a straight 2-door. Ever lift an infant seat into the back of a K5 or store a 100lb toolbox behind the driver's seat?

I had a 94 Blazer and a 95 Tahoe at the same time, names changed with the interiors.

Good idea. Just like in my other post, why not just make a quad cab 2 door for simple access? And yes its not simple to raise baby seats in a two door
