Why Did Chevy/GMC Did Not Keep The Names "Jimmy" And "Blazer" On The Full Size Two Door Tahoes N Yuk

We can extrapolate and ask why no more Oldsmoboggie, Pontiac, G-bodies, RWD B-bodies etc.

It ain't the same GM................

No offense to her, but can the CEO even change a spark plug?

P.S.
No more Kodiak---Upcoming medium duty trucks will also be called "Silverado" (Not sure what GMC's version will be called)

Part 2:

So i'm looking at maybe a new car and the Traverse seemed like something that could work (it probably won't as we will see...). From the looks and size of it, it seems like the sucksessor to the TrailBlazer/Envoy and thus it looked RWD to me. But no, it is not. It does have the AWD option, but that's not the same thing.

The only reason why i think i need RWD is because i want to do some occasional towing-----5000-6500lbs (car trailer). Occasional meaning, not every weekend, but enough to where renting would be a hassle and not fun.

In fact, funny here as chevy lists no towing capacity for the traverse while GMC lists 4000lbs. for the Acadia. But that isn't quite enough.

So, i feel GM should build an SUV on the Colorado/Canyon platform----for people like me who need that extra decent tow capacity but feel something like a Tahoe is a little too big.

I agree. The Colorado is a very nice platform and kind of a shame not to build an SUV based on it. Oh and a shame they don't put a V8 in it.

i think this might have had something to do with the re-organization after 08; The v-8 went away in the impala and no more SS models. They wanted to be more conservative. The v-8 colorado did not have huge sales numbers?

Ya I don't think the V8 ones sold well but they didn't really advertise it. And besides the 1st Gen Colorado didn't sell well in general anyway.

And pre-'08 they were slapping an SS badge on everything whether it deserved one or not. I remember reading an article around that time that said they were going to be a lot more selective on putting SS packages on cars and when they do it's not going to be some trim and and an extra 10hp, it's going to set itself apart from the base model.
