I didn't try blowing the rivit out with the torch, but on the last frame I parted I tried the torch method for cutting the heads off and it welded the rivits to the brackets.
The easiest way for me seemed to be grind the head off real quick put a chizle behind the bracket and smack it with a GFH and they pop right off. Then smack the rivit with the BFH and it usually pops right out of the frame rail.
For different areas I can see how different methods would be better. When I was using the sharp drill bit and a full charaged 18v drill I buzzed right through the rivits with the air hammer once some the mterial was gone.
